Next Door is the club owned and operated by the Acoustic Coffeehouse next door. City code requires security in nightspots where alchohol is served.(does this club have a license to serve?) Had the club provided adequate security the entire incident could have been diffused. Instead some local yokels attempted to beat the guy up. Hope he gets a sharp attorney and sues.

The real question is why did the jackwad have a knife in the first place, it's not the sort of thing you bring to a club unless you're planning on playing Billy-Badass and are too cowardly to use your fists like a man.

Po Richaud, what sort of limp dick arm chair quarterback are you?
The club this, the club that, sue, sue, sue!!
How about people acting like they have some common sense and being responsible for their own actions? Oh wait that makes too much sense.

People should take responsibility for themselves. There should be no lawsuits here. I bet Po Richaud is an Obama supporter.

It's legal to carry a knife up to a certain length. It's not legal to provide alchohol in a nightclub without a license. The problem is the Acoustic Coffeehouse and the stoned out goons that work and hang out there. Had the business been operating lawfully, with security, then the idiots who assaulted the man charged wouldn't have been injured. The police should have been dispatched but instead a bunch of burned out hippies from the Coffeehouse tried to play vigilantes.

You're absolutely right about no man in his 30's but what you fail to take cognizance of is that a 17 year old girl should NEVER, under any circumstances, be at a nightclub where alchohol is served, at that or any hour. Especially a Thrash Rock concert.

If the production company that ostensibly rented the nightclub gave out liquor as perk, and minors were in attendance, then they were likley in violation of several Alchohol and Beverage Commission laws. The presence of an Acoustic Coffehouse employee suggests complicity in the violations. So get off your soapbox, man up, and be less concerned about the reputation of the Acoustic Coffeehouse and more concerned about your daughter's well being.

I think the lawsuits should be going the other way. When a man is ejected from a venue and comes back with a knife, he has mayhem on his mind. My grandson was talking peacefully to Jeremy Peters, trying to diffuse a volatile situation to keep anyone from getting hurt and for his efforts, he has 40 stitches in his face and head. He didn't throw the first punch. Actually I don't think he got to throw a punch, even in self-defense. He is a victim, not a "burned out hippie" or "local yokel" looking to beat up on a defenseless man. It may be legal to carry a knife but it's not legal to stab three people with it. Peters shoved his knife up to the hilt into the back of one of the other men. That says pre-meditated murder to me since he came back with a knife after being thrown out the first time. He came back for a fight and he started one. Pardon me if I don't feel sorry for him.

That is a very valid point. What business does a 17 year old have at that time of the wee hours at an alcohol selling business? Sounds like trouble to me.....a 17 year old shouldn't be there. Still yet, if Jeremy laid hands on her, he may have asked for it.

Sounds like he has got himself in a bad situation....I know the fella, but if you stab someone....you kind of have to pay for it. No sympathy here.

first of all..alcohol was not being served by the acoustic coffee house so there was no need in security..second..po richard was evidently not at the show and has no business running your trap about something u know nothing about..as usual,it was not wee hours of the morning.it was 11pm.i rented the venue and no laws of any kind were broken except the loser stabbing people because he got his ass whipped.instead of feeling sorry for him u should know every last detail before sticking ur nose in something.just like the news,u only go by what u hear..did anyone bother to check the facts before you started..i highly doubt it...we were the victims not him and what about him stupid wife.if she was controlling him none of this would have happened.the pedophile deserved but it but you took his side so that doesn't say much for you either..and I'm not on a soap box..the only reputation my daughter has is from stupid people like you who knows nothing and trying to protect the baby raper..we could have been in church it doesn't matter.anybody else puts their hands on her they will receive the same beating he took home..these 30 stitches r nothing..neither are the 45 the other guy received or the staples the other received..i bet we recover before his situation does.

Lets get back to the point of this whole ordeal. HE LEFT AND CAME BACK AGAIN WITH A KNIFE AND THIS SHOWS INTENT! And yes there were stab wounds not just cuts! He is a good size boy and had no need for a knife. The face that he was ejected from the place and returned with one just shows how he really is no matter what kind of front he puts on for others. I do not care who knows him or who doesnt. The FACT remains the same, he was kicked out, came back once again, with INTENT on causeing harm to someone. He deserves much worse than he will ever get in this lame judicial system we have here.

Since we're "going back" take a couple of more. The whole incident began when the charged individual "allegedly" touched a young woman and other people at the club decided to throw him out.

Since you're most interested in "facts" here are a few. It's unlawful to serve alcohol in nightclub enviroment without a license as well as for minors to be in attendance. Assuming the gentleman did "touch" her inappropriately (and that has not been established) then that was a matter for the police to settle. Not some kind of self-appointed posse. Again it goes back to security. Apparently there was none and the city requires it.

I've seen patrons barred before for small things. Once the owner had a small difference of opinion with a regular customer and walked away in a huff. He then rounded up some regular customers and they surrounded the guy. It was amusing to watch how much more brave and hostile they became as their numbers grew. In retrospect the guy they were throwing out handled it better than they did. He just left.

Don't confuse the issue and think for one second I am defending the guy accused. The only circumstance that would allow him to use that degree of force would be in the middle of an unlawful assault. Not minutes later. He too would be required to call the police to report an assault. They likely were angry and took the word of the young woman. Unfortunately for all involved she shouldn't have been present in an adults bar in the first place and her father and his friends are too dumb to recognize that.

Yes they have a licence to serve richard. Have you been charged with animal cruelty?
It was rented out. The renters Have responsibility for security. Do you expect your landlord to gaurd your place?

Errr....Ummmm... I don't understand how your post relates to what I said in post #2 that you quoted. My name is not richard nor have I ever been charged with animal cruelty.

Sounds to me like you are partly responsible, one, for not anticipating such things will happen and not providing security and, two, for allowing minors to attend the venue. Just poor judgement and planning on your part, in my opinion.

People drink outside the club. Older people will give alcohol to minors. If you think that just not serving alcohol makes it ok, then you are just either in denial or careless. People are gonna drink and show up. You have to expect that. Guys are going to hit on girls. Yes, there are some pervs out there. They will show up where there are young girls present. Expect that. If you do not want your child exposed to that element, simply keep them away. Sime as that.

First of..i have been doing this for 10yrs and nothing like this has ever happened before,i have never needed security for local shows because 99% of us are all friends and we know each other.there was no poor judgement on my part,i would do it again.in fact i am working a show for the 21st and plan on taking my 15 yr.old son..but yes maybe i should have planned it a little better but didn't see the point since I've never had problems before...but i have decided from now on there will be pat downs and searches when people come in.to prevent this from happening again.but im not gonna say anything bad about your opinion,i infact welcome it.the thing that gets me the most is when everybody wants to make it about other issue's and not the one at hand
