The Jonesboro PD handled the case, and Webb was employed by the JPSO. Not exactly "their own," trust me. Kinda more like second cousins. And the reason why details are still tight is because it's a murder investigation and all kinds of freaks are known to come out afterwards, potentially as copycats, or those who might say they were "inspired."

A little movie-esqe, and I know this isn't L.A. or San Fran, but the media believes everyone should know everything, and that can interfere SIGNIFICANTLY with an investigation.

i think that everyday things are getting worst and worst and now it's in our own backyard i was stunned when i heard that ms.lard was killed right here in jonesboro. my first thought was who had the nuts to do it because i can't think of one real thug in jb but i think that this is a terrible ordeal and i hope that mr.webb spends the rest of his days behind bars.

Southerngal, I agree with you about Webb (and for that matter, I think we have the same "real thug" in mind, and THAT's definitely the truth about him), but not about the region decaying to the point of a homicide, as if things may steadily get worse from here.

It's true that this was the first murder inside the Jonesboro City Limits for 12 years. This means that, while for over a decade the count was "0," there is only one obvious example of a person being capable of taking another human's life, and he is locked away from the general public.

In other words, while this was indeed a tragedy, I feel automatically safer (and no less confident in the populace's good nature) because he was incarcerated, and QUICKLY, for that matter.
