Company press release for 3rd Quarter Earnings on internet. "RockTennís restructuring and other costs and operating losses and transition costs due to plant closures, net of related noncontrolling interest were $0.14 per diluted share after-tax, for the third quarter of fiscal 2012. These costs consisted primarily of $7.5 million of pre-tax integration and acquisition costs, including professional services, employee and other costs,$6.2 million of pre-tax facility closure charges primarily related to corrugated container plants acquired in the Smurfit-Stone Acquisition, the permanent shutdown of the medium machine at Hodge, Louisiana containerboard mill, net of a gain on sale of our Columbus, Indiana laminated converting facility and $1.9 million of pre-tax operating losses and transition costs primarily related to corrugated container plants acquired in the Smurfit-Stone acquisition."

The same release singles out Hodge as a reason for the entire corporation to underperform for the quarter. Not sure what that all means but it does not sound good for Hodge. "Our corrugated segment performance, while generally above our expectations, reflected approximately $10 million ($.09 per share) in expense from higher than expected costs, lost production and supply chain disruption associated primarily with major capital projects at our Hodge, Louisiana mill." and "The sequential quarter decrease was primarily due to scheduled major maintenance outages and capital projects at our containerboard mills." Any current employees know what is happening?

let em fire all those lazy worthless check drawing bastards in maintenance...way too much pay for not nearly enough work.......union titty babies looking for a free ride. Hopefully they will contract all maintenance to outside sources from now on. High salaries and lack of productive work is going to eventually cause the closure of the mill then the union titty babies are going to have to get a real job....booo hooo bitches.

The problems the mill has been having starting up has nothing to do with our maintainence department. These guys have been working day and night fixing the problems left behind by the contractors. I'd put our maintainence and e&i up against anybody. They have been working 12&16 hour days for weeks on end to get the mill up & running. And they deserve every dollar they make.
THANK YOU GUYS FOR ALL YOU DO!

Our maintenance sucks, there are some good workers but most are lazy and are only after a check , and are crybabies and there is no way that this mill is kept running by that Department, what a joke .
Since the mill only has two Clints, and they obviously didn't write such ignorant comments, why don't you stop your troublemaking. If you have something to say, then be man enough to use your own name.

I don' t understand these local people so eager for the paper mill to fail. Don't you realize that if it weren't for that paper mill there would be NO jonesboro or hodge. If that plant were to shut down it would be a disaster for jackson parish as a whole. You should be grateful and thankful for the hard working men and women who have kept the hodge mill in this area. They are going through a lot of changes and a rough time right now. They need our support now more than ever. Stop with the hating and get behind the paper mill workers.

Couldn't handle some hard work huh trash? I'm glad for you if you actually work in the oilfield but I got my doubts about that. What do you do hold that little chain while the pipe goes round and round? I could train a monkey to do that in about 5 minutes.

I personally know about 15 people that left the oilfields and offshore rigs to work at the mill. After working for a while, quit and gladly went back to the oilfields. That should tell you something. There are no cushy jobs at THE ROCK anymore.
