Review of Larry's Pizza

April 04, 2011 - Yes my name is Chrissy Garcia many of you in Jonesboro,Arkansas know of me as a hair stylist for many years and many know my daughter as LaShaey Emerson now Morris. She recently was employed at Larrys pizza as a waitress. She was to make 5.00 an hour plus tips. But one of her Managers was sending some of them home early if they was there all day not by there choice then he would cut their tips. They don't get to keep there own tips it was to be put in a jar and split at the end of the shift so if they sent you home then you got your tips cut now tell me how that is fair if they pay the people in the kitchen 7.25,the ones working with no papers cash,the waitresses 5.00 that is not minimum wage so they are supose to get there tip I would think and not take them away. So Shaey was at work till 2 when they close till 4 but she waited on her boss to come in and let him know what was going on he told her if she had a problem go talk to him so she did and he told her that is just how it is gonna be. So yes she was upset but as she was leaving she slipped and fell. I met her at the hospital and they asked her what happened and where and she told them plus she still had her work shirt on so they told her they would send them the bill also they did her ex ray and thankfully it was just a slight fracture and swollen so they gave her a note to be off for some days. Then I went with her to Larrys to give them her note but the owner nor the manager was there. So she asked one of the workers for her tips and they had done it again she only got 9 dollars for working all day. I told that little girl how is that right and bless her heart she said its not but they now have two managers and they tell me different things and she said I wish they would do the same LaShaey asked her to call him but she would not I guess because she is the owners niece.So later LaShaey called and they just told her to come back when the Dr said she was off Fri,Sat,and Sun then she called one of the managers told her to be there at 2 Monday so when she went they told her to get a note from the Dr so she went to get it and they still was not working her for a week so I was told to have her call every day and ask when they was gonna put her back to work and on Sunday she called and recorded the Manager telling her I just don't think this is gonna work out cause you was gonna get an attorney if we didn't pay your bill. So then she asked if Zack was on schedule witch was her boyfriend that worked in the kitchen and she said I don't know. Now please tell me what kind of business is these people running. Plus they did no accident report for her and then fired her because she was gonna have to get an attorney if they would not pay they want to say it happened because she was mad but let me ask would you be mad if someone was taking your money but that really has nothing to do with her falling on your floor that was wet with no signs plus another girl fell on your floor before she did but she was on the clock and you did have signs up but I was told that signs mean nothing looks like to me all this is up to OSHA, Better Business Burrow,and the Labor board. Please people think twice about jobs like this and makes you really wonder what would happen if a customer fell. But the way I look at it when my daughter fell she was clocked out but waiting on the owner to arrive to discuss work so she was just like me and you up in there. Business like this give Jonesboro a bad name and this has been my home town for many years and my family have been in business for many years.My question is what if this was you in her shoes what would you do.

If the store was closed and she was off the clock then she shouldn't of been in there....regardless tho if she was on or off the clock they should of done a workers comp. If the store Is closed, I don't believe it matters if the wet floors are out.
Now for the rest of it..they have to cut the hours for labor..if they aren't making money then they are losing money have 10 people on the clock not doing anything. And if she don't like the pay, she should look else where for a job. Many of the restaurants around like that split the tips! That's part of it! Me personally, when I was younger, I wouldnt do a waitress job cuz of that! Slow night, bad pay! The hell with that! You can't pay bills off that crap... I worked in a fast food joint..and at 18 I was already assistant manager making $9.50 an hour! Yeahs that's not much, but right out of high school, it was fabulous!

I understaand spliting tips but that is not what they are doing. They only half the tips with some and the Manager pockets the rest.It should be devided equal she put in over 75 dollars in tips herself that day and only got 9 dollars cause she was told to go home early because she had been there all day as if they was doing her a favor and one of the workers told her that the manager Carlos pocketed the rest of the tips and went and bought beer. So please tell me how that is right.

Well no that isn't right that he uses that money for beer...If I was one of those waitresses I guess I'd have to be pocketing money myself..oh yes sir I only made $10 in tips today!

Well tonight was horrible at larrys pizza I believe The waitress name was nicole she touched the ice after wiping her nose and began serving it I went to keke to resolve the problem and her manager yells at her for trying to help the customers IM a regular at larrys I love it but where's the customer service she's doing her job and at the end gets punished for helping me out I don't understand how their management system works because the little chinese lady had no clue about what she was doing I most likely wont be returning I heard five other tables say the same

Something serious has to be done for them treating people like that and those kids work there butts off and get treated like total shit I remember shaey her and keke worked together as cashiers if something doesn't be done the curse of that building will continue I don't mind driving to paragould

From the view of someone who was there when ms shaey fell and tonight when ms kiki was bascially criticized for doing her job and taking care of the lackers I will have to say both situations could have been handled differently. First and for most her arm should have been properly taken care of every job has a process now if it was not seriously damaged no need to go through the paper work for work mans comp now ms kiki is an excellent worker always has a smile on her face talks to everyone never byest nor unfair the customers love her and the larry team needs her days without her seems blaine she's what you look for in a restaurant worker and they should train every one to be on her level the little lady tonight was ignorant about what was going on I watched as ki tried to explain and got sent home that was pathetic whether ur the boss or manager u must have some type of skill n twon wife lacks the skill wish larry could have saw that he probably would have took his name off the building

Where is twon as his store crumbles from the hands of his wife!!!!!we definitely need to talk!this shouldn't be happening no ones talking about the pizzas because you can't get pass the bullshit learn how to run a business and watch who you put in charge including relatives if they aren't ready I was with the party of 6 table in line that walked out before even eating I pay for food not to watch the workers be abused they should definitely inform the hotline!!!

The owners need to understand that "Larry's"pizza is a brand and the little Chinese lady obviously is not good for the brand if she doesn't. Want to take care of her customers personally nor does she want them to be taken care of I'm clueless of how she thinks she's going to run a business with no people because after what I saw I wouldn't work for her any longer can you. Say PATHETIC?????

wow, I had no idea about all of this, but the pizza isn't that good either. The restaurant doesn't seem 'clean' either. The pizza is comparable to CiCi's........and I'm not sure that I didn't just cut Cici's down actually.

I ate there once and I'm done.=)

I agree the restaurant doesn't seem clean especially when the waitress are wiping there nose then serving you the ice where's the health department when you need them???

Last night was my first and last night I didn't enjoy the experience I like to eat in a non drama zone and if the lady in the white aero shirt is running things it'll never be drama free. What happened to the laid back fun environment that the customers on the wall experienced they need to bring that back until then I wont be back

I eat at larrys at least once a week. The people are friendly and I always have a great time while I am there. It is a comfortable environment where i can take myself, my husband, and my 3 kids after a long day. They always make sure me and my family are taken care of and their prices are extremely low considering my whole family (5 ppl) can eat there for just 25 bucks and that's with everyone having a soda. I have no problems with larrys. I think they have everything under control for a business that just started out. If u don't like larrys or the atmosphere there then simply go somewhere else. I was there last night and the place was packed so it's obvious that some of the ppl of Jonesboro enjoy their food. So don't ruin it for all of us! If u take a job at a new business making 5 bucks an hour then you already know u won't be making much there. And in response to the girl not receiving her tips... Did she ask to not be sent home and maybe let someone else go home instead of her? That way she didn't miss out on tips. There's no real way for the servers to know who's money is who's so it's only fair for the ones that stayed till closing to get more tips since it would be obvious that they did more work. Just sayin....

Cleanliness is cleanliness and that's where they need to step up at other then that its a great place to be n shay was not a good worker n.e ways always seem to have an attitude but keke is I also enjoy the new Guy Marshall the server
