My husband is interested in getting a job at either of the Nucor's in Blytheville. Anyone have any info? How to apply. If they are hiring. That kind of thing...

If you have any idea what's good for you you'll stay the f|_|ck out of Blytheville. Almost as run-down and corrupt as Jonesboro.

Oh trust me I have NO desire whatsoever to live there. Just a job for my husband there. He will drive.

Blytheville is easily the worst city in Northeast Arkansas. I have never seen a more depressing town.

I do like your trollbaiting in comparing it to Jonesboro though.

Call the Blytheville Chamber and ask them. They used to give tests and take apps at the Harry Crisp center on hwy 18 going out towards Nucor. Don't live in Blytheville but it is a good place to work. I'm from Blytheville originally and most of my family works there. Great benefits and GREAT money.

They are not hiring right now at all and probably won't be for the next 6 months or so. Sorry!

Not sure who is feeding this info about hiring after the election. They are short handed and hiring soon. You have to go to the Crisp Center on Hwy 19 and apply and take a test. They hire out of that pool of people. Great place to work and alot of men drive from here everyday and your husband could easily find a carpool. Mine is in one of them!

Thank you very much! This is very helpful! And makes me very hopeful that I can get him off the river for 4 weeks at a time. I can handle 4 days, but 4 weeks is just TOO much! I appreciate the help!

I'm not sure about that. My husband done all the testing and interviews and was put into that pool of people to be called. We still haven't heard anything.

The test takes a couple of hours. He better brush up on his fractions/conversions and things like the temp of boiling water and all that stuff. They also have a section where you have to read a story and then answer questions about the article. There is also a "common sense" section. They ask alot of questions about steel, which I don't understand because most people don't know til they work there. As for the person who said that they were placed in the pool and hadn't heard anything, that's not surprising. They only keep those people in the pool for 90 days so try again. It took my dad several years to get on out there.
