Divorce records

Are divorce records public? Where can I find them without having to buy anything? I don't want to spend the money to not find anything.

They are public record! Go to the circuit clerk's office at the courthouse and you should be able to look them up at no charge. There is only a charge if you make copies.

I can see a need for knowing if someone is divorced. If they are asking you out or pursuing you, this is something you indeed might want to check.

Divorce filings ARE public record and you may access those records at the county clerk's office. Copies will cost you, though.
It will be helpful when you go to know the approximate date of the separation or divorce. What might take 5 minutes to look at in Osceola might take 30 in J-town. I've done it myself.

I highly doubt it. Especially in the counties with a smaller population.

Some counties do offer online dockett searches but not Craighead yet. Supposably this year sometime they will be online.
