How would you feel if the nurse caring for you, your child, or your parent, was currently on felony probation for possession of 5 to 50 pounds of marihuana? This nurse has also faced disciplinary action by the board of nursing, putting her license to practice on probation too. Would this make you question her decision making skills?

You mean her name? I'm not giving that out. I just want to know how the general public would feel about it.

Wtf? If you want to talk about someone start a different thread please. This is about how you would feel about your nurse bring on active felony probation and if you think it would affect her decision making skills. I'm trying to have a serious discussion here. Thanks

Your have a real bitter soul! I don't know you or this Jamie woman but I have noticed how you get on here quite often and run this girl in the ground every chance you get but that's not the worst you do! You also get on here and talk about her mother who passed away. Only a hateful, spiteful old bag would get on here and talk about a woman who has apparently made a lot of bad decisions in her life but to top it off you go on to tell all of Jonesboro how, when, where her mother passed away! She did it right the first time?! What a miserable human being you are!! Wow! The downfall of humanity gets worse every second, your living proof of that!

Seriously people!! Start a thread! Or if you're going gripe at someone on here, at least give your opinion about what the thread is supposed to be about. Serious conversation please.

Pie is better than Cake. Nurse, this is topix, you'd have a better chance of having a serious conversation in a kindergarten center. But no, possession of weed had no bearing on ones job ability. Being stoned at work is totally different though.

My mother had hospice care and her social worker stole her narcotic medication. I had her fired. But her nurse was great and I'm grateful for his help. But I will say that everyone makes mistakes and if the nurse your talking about takes good care of her then you shouldn't judge his/her past. UNLESS you see something in the caretaking that is questionable.

It was enough weed that it was a felony though. 5 to 50 pounds. Do you think it would reflect poorly on the employer?

Omg thank you! Someone who is using topix responsibly! I'm not necessarily judging. Just wondering what people think about it. Even if its just weed, could you understand how it might make someone question her judgement? There is a reason felons can't own guns, vote, or serve on a jury. Because the government doesn't trust her decision making skills. Would you feel the same way if it was a doctor? Also it was a lot of weed. I would go so far as to say she was a dealer. Does that make a difference?

I understand your point, but I also believe that people can change... Does she not deserve a second chance? If she's on probation, she's getting drug tested. So if your concern is that she is high at work, maybe that will ease your mind. And honestly, I think people get way too bent out of shape over "felons." You can get a felony for many things... Hell, Martha Stewart is a felon... No one is worried about her decision making skills... People look to her for that. Maybe I'm naive, but I still believe everyone deserves another chance..... I know, personally how easy it is to make mistakes... But I learn from them today.

People so deserve a second chance, I get that. How do you think it would reflect upon her employer? And of you had to choose between the nurse that's a felon and a nurse that isn't, who would you rather have work for you? For arguments sake, I'll say that in every other way they're the same. Same experience, same cheery attitude, everything. Who would you hire?

I'm only trying to get honest mature answers here. Do you think if the public knew, it would reflect poorly on the employer?

It would make a difference to some people, or I wouldn't be asking the publics opinion. People are judged by their past all the time. If being a felon wasn't an issue then they wouldn't ask about it on job applications. And you don't know if it affects her job performance. It might or it might not. It's about decision making skills.

That's a stupid question. There are people on topix, besides you, who try to have adult conversations.
