Nea is for school age children. The top 5 finalist get to compete from school pageants around nea, an it's all out glitz.

My daughter won Queen at her elem. school. So she is going to be in the Miss NEA (in Brookland). She was more natural than Glitz. So your saying that we may need to step it up a little for her to have a chance???

Yes at nea they will be looking for Glitz! Tan,Make-up,Hair extensions,Glitz dress. It is very glitz an modeling is top notch! It is crazy I know, but it is all fake when it comes to nea! Go Big or Go home! Is what I have Heard!

It's a shame that the school pageants are considered a "natural pageant" and then girls are expected to compete "glitz" at NEA. They should be on the same level. Some people do the school pageants because they are "natural." Not everyone likes the "glitz" pageants."

i love pageants, and I don't have anything against parents that put their girls in glitz pageants, but in my opinion, girls shouldnt do glitz til age 10 at the earliest. it just seems a lil over the top to me to spray tan a 3 year old ya know?

I went and watched the NEA pageant before I put my daughter in it. She has done it the last two years and they usually pick girls that are more glitz than natural. But it is not like the pageants on Toddlers and Tiaras.

I was told by several people that it tends to be more natural. They like the glitz dresses but want the child to look their age

dont listen to what anyone says. they look for different things every year. just let your daughter wear what she feels beautiful in because thats what shes going to look the most confident wearing!
