The Jonesboro Church Health Center can get you in touch with a dentist. The dentists who work with them usually only charge around $15 for getting a tooth pulled. Not sure on the cost of anything else. As far as I know there is not a dental office that is income based.

jonesboro church health center will refer you to a local dentist to have a tooth pulled for $15, the wait is anywhere from 6-9months. there was a dentist in lepanto that did work on a sliding fee that went on your income and household

There is a clinic in Marianna, Ar that goes by your income for dental work. There is another one closer to here but I can't think of the place...like Monette or something like that. You can call the Marianna Health Dept and they can tell you.

I agree that Dr. Shannon doesn't charge a lot, but he wouldn't know a cavity if it bit him in the a**!! I wouldn't send my dog to him!

Oh, then I'm sorry for you...you (and your entire family) really should get a second opinion. My family and I used to see him. We switched and found out we need tons of dental work! My two youngest children even lost permanent teeth due to his neglect. I seriously considered filing a compliant against him with the dental board. Maybe if I would have others would not have to learn the hard way.

Yeah, you probably went to Parkey @ Davis and they found all kinds of dental work you and your children needed. NOT!! You should be able to figure out the dentist that advertise and have the big fancy offices didn't get there by not being con artist. Dr. Shannon was just being honest and you would rather be fooled by the (cons} whoever told you that you needed all that unnessesary work. You should be ashamed......no just stupid

What would a dentist have to gain if they said you didn't need dental work if you really did. Nothing, but loss of income.

i have been in this business for a long time and i will agree with dr. shannon not diagnosing to where it hurt the patient in the long run. I have seen multiple patients from his office with "perfect teeth" to taking new x-rays and having "bombed out teeth". I recall one lady who seen him for years every 4months for cleanings, when she started coming to our office (only because her daughter married the dr.) we had to redo her whole mouth with extractions, root canals and full mouth crowns and bridgework. Not for money all free with her being family. Why he would not diagnose I have the slightest clue because yes that is losing him money.

Thanks for posting. I had hoped that this hadn't happened to others. When we switched and got the bad news I thought maybe Dr. Shannon didn't tell us about our cavities because he thought we couldn't afford it even with insurance. Since you're in the business, do you think that I should report him to the dental board? I would hate for him to continue to cause others long term problems or pain, especially children.

No, I didn't go to Parkey and Davis or anyone with a big, fancy office. And, they showed me the x-rays and used a small camera that took pictures of our teeth so that I could see the decay for myself. The dentist and hygienist were baffled as to why Dr. Shannon didn't tell us about the extensive problems we had. I didn't need a lot of expensive work, mostly fillings. As I said in my first post, my children lost permanent teeth!! I hope that you never have to see that happen to your children. I am neither ashamed or stupid. However, those words easily apply to Dr. Shannon.

You're right, I am to blame. I took my children to a dentist that I trusted and shouldn't have. I took them every six months since they were around three years old and paid a doctor to lie to my face. I believed him when he proudly announced that they didn't have cavities. If I could go back in time and never have gone to Dr. Shannon I would.

Wow still sounds like you're blaming him! If your kids teeth are fine now why are you still complaining?

I went to Dr. Shannon for years and I really liked him. I went to a different dentist a few yrs later and had 1200.00 worth of cavaties. I had braces put on by Shannon and all of the cavaties were behind my permanent retainer. I saw him every month for about 1 1/2 yrs for this and he never mentioned anything about having cavaties. I really wondered if I was getting ripped off (more than usual) by new dentist, but it just amazed me I had that many problems and Shannon didn't notice or give a crap. They had to remove my permanent retainer and they didn't put it back on. Needless to say all my teeth went back to the way they were before braces. Money down the drain. I think dentist charge way too much. I kinda put them in the category w/attorneys.
