Piers Morgan and CNN Plan End to His Prime-Time Show
FEB. 23, 2014

There have been times when the CNN host Piers Morgan didn’t seem to like America very much — and American audiences have been more than willing to return the favor. Three years after taking over for Larry King, Mr. Morgan has seen the ratings for “Piers Morgan Live” hit some new lows, drawing a fraction of viewers compared with competitors at Fox News and MSNBC.

It’s been an unhappy collision between a British television personality who refuses to assimilate — the only football he cares about is round and his lectures on guns were rife with contempt — and a CNN audience that is intrinsically provincial. After all, the people who tune into a cable news network are, by their nature, deeply interested in America.

CNN’s president, Jeffrey Zucker, has other problems, but none bigger than Mr. Morgan and his plum 9 p.m. time slot. Mr. Morgan said last week that he and Mr. Zucker had been talking about the show’s failure to connect and had decided to pull the plug, probably in March.

This is long overdue. I never understood why anyone would want to listen to someone question our Second Amendment rights in a British accent.

Long overdue decision. I tried to watch his program, but he is, in his way, as "off-putting" as Sean Hannity.

Don't care much for Obama, Bush, Hannity, but I can't stand Morgan. If he doesn't like our guns get on a boat and get out.

Fox likes to incite anger and manufacture controversy, americans thrive on that, they think they need an enemy at all times.

Fox does pull in ratings but doesn't mean they are the best, look at mcdonalds, they sell the most burgers but they taste like crap and give you diarrhea.

Morgan previously said if the US didn't enact more stringent gun laws he was going back to the UK .... of course he didn't .. maybe he will now since he will soon be unemployed

That would be MSNBC, not FOX.
Fox does pull in ratings.
They certainly do pull in ratings. In fact, they have consistently been at the top of the heap for years. In TV, how is the best measured? Well, by ratings of course.

Face it, MSNBC, CNN and the network stations suck. As a result, their ratings are in the toilet. Look for more wacko liberals like Piers Morgan to be out of a job.

I can spare those Americans who want me deported a lot of effort by saying this: If you don’t change your gun laws to at least try to stop this relentless tidal wave of murderous carnage, then you don’t have to worry about deporting me… I would… seriously consider deporting myself.
Piers Morgan -

well Piers old boy .. no job now .. time for you to make that move and deport yourself...

ohhh PS Piers .. can you take Disclaimer with you????

The American people did try. Over 90% of the American want background checks for each and every gun purchase. The obstructionists Republicans blocked the legislation. They will pay for that in November. When the Democratic House is seated next January gun legislation will be on the short list.

Piers Morgan will still be here. Probably with his own show on FOX Nooze.

what most people didn't realize is there can be no 100% background check without a gun registration.

You're exactly right. Universal background checks can't be enforced so those who support such legislation do not understand the issue well enough to even participate in the debate.

The gun debate is over. The Republicans filibusteted the vote in defiance of over 90% of the American voters. But Harry Reid did not suspend the legislation. He tabled the legislation so it can be brought right back up again. Brought back up for immediate vote no less. And it will be brought back up about January of 2015.

There wont be any debate. There is no need for further debate.

Yea like the people of Connecticut are in favor of that states new gun regulations and are not engaging in civil disobedience against it
