WTH?? i went to the bowling alley last night with some friends. we walked in, and there's an admission price...for the bowling alley??? it wouldn't have been a problem, except i didn't plan on playing. i was going there because my wife and friends wanted to bowl a couple games.

why should i be charged $6 to just go in and sit? the ladies sitting at the table explained that my admission price would be applied to someone else's tab. ok, whatever.

we get ready to leave and go pay. the people that were bowling won $1 chip and a 2 liter, and my wife used a coupon for 2 free games....and they still had to pay 35 cents. so in essence it took 2 people $24 to bowl 2 games and rent 3 pair of shoes.

i went to the counter to try and understand what was going on. everyone was so confused...when it was really as simple as give me my $6 back and go from there. they were trying to charge for this and convert money from here to there, etc, etc. i really hate to think about how much it would have cost if we hadn't had a coupon for 2 games and won the $1 chip.

the concession stand needs to accept debit cards, or at least have a sign by the front door that says "don't enter building without $100 cash". i ordered my food and drink and pulled out my debit card and was told they don't take debit cards...well i don't carry cash. this is 2008, not 1988, they should take either credit/debit cards. luckily my wife had extra cash.

I think this is a measure to keep out all of the low life little thugs that seem to congregate there and try so start fights with people. I stopped going after the way it turned out, maybe charging at the door will keep out the scum.

and i thought of that point. but it was 4 adults with an infant...not your typical trouble makers lol. they weren't crowded, it should go on a case-by-case basis.

i don't go often, but i'll go even less now

Basically the money at the door is weeding out those who just go up there to hang out. Those types are usually the ones who don't play or buy anything except maybe putting 50 cents in the pool table. Or do they even have tables any more?

If you can't afford the money to get in there you shouldn't be out spending your money in the first place, JMO.

the 6 bucks a person is applyed to those ppl who bowl. it pays for your shoes and 1 game.nobody throws a fit os says a word when they fork over whatever it cost to get in the cowboy or brickhouse. it was started to clean up the bowling center so that adults could bring there children and infants into a clean and safe enviroment, the bowling center is NOT A BABYSITTER!!! thats why theres a six dollar charge at the door

What do you mean nobody says a word about a cover charge? Everybody complains about cover charges, everywhere.

it's not applied to just people that bowl...it's applied to everyone, or else it wouldn't be doing any good. doesn't make sense to charge the people that are coming there to spend money anyway (the bowlers).

dur, they are sayin that the money everyone pays is credited to them so they get $6 credit on their bowling, shoes, etc. everyone pays it but those there to bowl will get it back regardless.

If you can't afford it ..keep your broke ass home. You can't go anywhere and do anything free anymore.Thats just the way it is.Go to a ball game , school event , the fair or anything else going on...and you'll pay to get in.Parents use the Bowling Center , the Mall and any other public place they can think of for a cheap baby-sitter all summer long. It's a good thing I don't own the Bowling Center the price of admission would be more.

I think the admission price is a GREAT idea. My husband and I like to bowl but not when there are teenagers sitting everywhere that aren't bowling. Maybe that will clear out some room for the actual bowlers!

Just my opinion but I think that Chris guy that works there needs to come on out of the closet! He seems so gay to me. I have heard that he is married and got kids- good cover up. I canot say he is gay cause I do not know for sure but he sure acts like it.

But you own the place. Oh yes you do, because no one else calls it the bowling center but the owners.

it's not a matter of being able to afford it or not. it's a matter of me having to pay $6 to sit there, but don't worry, my "broke ass" won't step foot in that place ever again
