The words of the officer describing how an officer missed a gun on a search and that this prisoner was able to shoot himself in the right temple while handcuffed behind his back (and being left handed) are the most pathetic and disgusting lies I have ever heard. Do those cops really think that anyone is going to believe their asinine story. The Department of Justice needs to charge every officer on that scene with capitol murder and a hate crime. There needs to be people in the streets until the coward, murderous cops are brought to justice.

This kid was 21 years old. He will never hold his girlfriend ever again. His mother will never see him become successful. She will never get to bake him cookies, or let him sleep in his old bedroom when he comes home sick. His family and friends will never forget what happened to him, and will be bitter toward police for the rest of their lives. Where are we going, and why are we doing this? How many kids have to die before our leaders put a stop to this senselessness?

I am attempting to keep an open mind on this story. My suspicious nature would question the alleged events if the table was turned. I find this to be an incredible story as far as what the officers said occured. I believe it is physically impossible for one to be handcuffed in front or behind, and retrieve a gun to commit suicide. This defies logic. My prayers go out to this young man's family, and the officers and their families, who witnessed these events. If they are lying, and I believe they are, they will have to live with this atrocity for the remainder of their lives. In reality, does anyone believe it happened the way it is being reported???? If so, please explain to me how you think this happened.

Hell no. There was no suicide involved. The truth has not come to light yet but it will. The forensic evidence is key and science doesn't lie. Its all about the angle the bullet shot the young man which will tell it all.

The only thing this man, not a kid, was going to hold the rest of his life was a crack pipe and then a pillow at Cummins. He was well on his way to keeping the statistics for the Black population in prison where they are right now, higher than any other race. But he actually helped the Black cause when he pulled the trigger. Blacks like this are ruining Jonesboro. He will no longer be able to impregnate multiple girls, he will never get to buy dope or sell dope on the streets again, his friends were left owed money for the dope he sold, it's just a shame he took his life. The biggest disappointment to this story is that he will never get to shoot his gun at some innocent child or loved one, how sad.
The truth will come out that ,"the man," 21 yrs old is a man, was put in the back of the police car before he was arrested , and he took his gun out and stuffed it in the seat
behind him scared he was going to get caught with it. Then he was asked to get out and after figuring out he was lying about his name, was arrested because his real name was determined and that he had felony warrants. He was then patted down and placed in handcuffs behind his back which enabled him to retrieve the gun and was probably trying to shoot the officers when instead shot himself in the head. The only thing the officers did wrong was to not pat him down first for their protection.

going up and down the street with parking lights on at dark. Hmmmm thug life. His ghetto mom on the news must of had him at 15. Why even give credibility to the them. Let's just do the investigation. Then give the cops a raise

Close your eyes, imagine your baby (doesn't matter what age or race, they're always your baby) being in this scenario, he's somebody's son, have a little respect. I know everyone is talking and speculating, including my husband and myself, but really, unless you've lost a child, you can't imagine the pain she's feeling. That pain is colorblind. There isn't one of us parents that wouldn't love our children through the most terrible of acts, at least I hope that to be true. What's done in the darkness will be brought to the light. So please, everyone, blacks, whites, and everything in between, put the anger and prejudice aside, and rest assured the truth will come out.

I just closed my eyes and imagined my young man/baby hanging out with thugs, selling dope, getting girls pregnant and not supporting his children, but instead choosing to live the dangerous life of crime. I think his Momma should have stepped up and became interested in what he was doing many years ago.
Try as you all might, you are not going to be able to pull of the 'sweet, little boy that did nothing wrong' ploy.

Now, actually find a 'young''thin' man and tie his hands behind his back and see what he can do. It's a very simple experiment, and it will put your minds at ease over this.

Yates went on the record as of 4 hours ago stating he backs his officers 100% & now says it's suicide... where as before he stated a fatal gunshot wound to the head. He has something to openly state that. Reviewed all dash cams & I'm thinking forensics have to be in for residue. Just saying... that's career suicide to state on record to the nation unless he was sure.

Okay, so you imagined your baby, hanging out with thugs, selling dope, getting girls pregnant, not supporting his kids, and you are stating that you still wouldn't love your child? I'm not saying he was a saint, I didn't know the young man, but I certainly know the love I have for my children. It is a love that is never-ending and unconditional. I know that whatever happened, this woman is grieving the loss of her son.

This kid wasn't exactly an angel. There was a reason he was in a police car handcuffed. He wasn't singing in church too loudly. That said, I'd like to know how he was supposed to have shot himself in the head while he was handcuffed and double locked. That's something Houdini would have been interested in. They may want to start being honest.
