The GOP Reign of Terror has Begun

http://www.sfgate.com/news/article/Ark-Senate...

LITTLE ROCK, Ark.(AP) The Arkansas Senate voted Thursday to prohibit most abortions if a heartbeat is detected, ignoring warnings from opponents that banning the procedure as early as six weeks into a pregnancy would invite lawsuits.

If enacted, the ban would be the most stringent in the nation. The Ohio House passed a similar ban in 2011, but it was sidelined in the Senate last year over concerns that it might be found unconstitutional.

A day earlier, an attorney for the American Civil Liberties Union told a Senate panel that the group would sue the state if it enacted the new restriction. Opponents have also noted that the only way to detect a fetal heartbeat at six weeks is by using a vaginal probe.

The clock begins to turn back in Arkansas. Just think what will happen if we get a republican governor.

Opposing the slaughter of 1.5 million babies every year is called a reign of terror?

Wow. Such idiocy from the left wing nut jobs.

Abortion is the true reign of terror. Here, take a look for yourself at what abortion actually is:

Funny how they cry over babies being shot with non-existent rifles but rejoice at them being ripped limb from limb from a womb. Obviously, their problem has to do with method, not morality.

Abortions wouldn't happen if more fetuses were armed.

We need to place armed guards inside every pregnant woman's womb. Then clearly the problem would be solved.

A lame duck Democratic Governor will not sign any nonsense like this into law.

That's why you're not getting any traction with this bait thread. Sensible people know this is nothing but another Republican sponsored, Kock brothers funded scheme to waste the time of our Congress.

I'm glad to see those billionaire brothers funneling money into our state.

Now you have heard from the left so you can now all go back to massaging each others tiny ... uhh, egos.

We'll be holler'n atcha!

Bills to restrict abortions pass Arkansas House

http://www.sfgate.com/news/article/Bills-to-r...

Unlike the six-week ban pending before a House committee, it does not include exemptions for rape or incest.

Democratic Gov. Mike Beebe said earlier Monday he was still researching the legality of the 20-week ban and the insurance exchange, but said preliminary research suggests that the "heartbeat" abortion ban is unconstitutional.

Abortion-rights supporters have already said they're all but certain to sue the state if the "heartbeat" ban becomes law. Bettina Brownstein, an attorney for the American Civil Liberties Union of Arkansas, said the group is also troubled by the two restrictions approved by the House.

"They're both unconstitutional, and I think they're both cruel to women and families," Brownstein said.

So they are passing bills they know won't survive a legal challenge? That will cost the tax payers large amounts of money?

A piece of paper passed by the state legislature and signed by the governor is cruel? What about real cruelty like ripping the arms and legs off of tiny, helpless little babies and crushing their skulls?

This is real cruelty:

Anyone who supports doing that to another human being is a brainsick psychotic.
