Yes it's easy but not much cheaper. I don't have a jack so I can't do it on my car. Plus I don't have to dispose of it

I do know that advance auto parts sometimes runs a really good deal where you get 5 quarts of Valvoline motor oil and a filter for $14.99 and I have used that option. The only thing is that the law requires a person to properly dispose of used oil and there are serious fines for dumping it. I put the used oil in a 5 quart oil bottle and return it to them which requires an extra trip. Wal-Mart offers the service for $30.00 plus tax and includes up to five quarts of oil, designed service class SM, the highest classification available for motor oil for gasoline engines. They also recycle the used oil so there is no need to make a trip to a recycling center. I use Synthetic oil in one vehicle and that service costs somewhat more, but then I only change it every 5,000 miles rather than 3,000 miles so I come out the same as far as cost. I might add that the manufacturer often recommends the same oil change interval whether you use synthetic or conventional and some mechanics will tell you not to exceed 3,000 miles between changes whether you use synthetic oil or not. Opinions vary.

When I was a kid, dad and I would pour it back to kill the grass, but i live in an easily observed area of the city, i would be the one to get kot.

I get mine changed at Precision across from the walmart on highland. Theres a sign that says $18 or something, but I got charged $20. I guess thats about right with tax. They are not really busy like walmart is and the people there seem friendly. I'm not anti Walmart in anyway, but shop around you will find out they are not always the cheapest or best place in town. I know the 10 minute place on highland close to turtle creek charged me $40 once. I never went back and won't ever again.

I always go early to percision tune auto care, there is not a long wait and its always under 20, just look for their specials. They seem to run one every week, my last oil change cost me 14.99. They will also inspect your car and tell you if you need a belt or any fluid changed but dont pressure you into doing it there.

cheapest is not always the best anyway. and if you do get caught pouring oil instorm drain be prepared to pay a huge fine. not woth the hassle.
