Here is the story as it appears on KAIT website. Boy he is going to make a great councilman. And he has already won his seat by the fact that no one ran against him. We are already going to have a great council. We lose Furr and Province, but we are getting another unstable nut like Jim Hargis. See the story below.

A candidate for Jonesboro City Council was arrested on 'drunk, insane and disorderly' charges last night after an incident at a local car dealership where he is employed.

Police say 41-year-old Mikel Fears was arrested at Williamson Auto Sales on East Nettleton Avenue after JPD officers were called to the business by a co-worker. There, police found Fears and a woman identified as Ginger Fears involved in what appeared to be a domestic dispute inside the building. Police say Ginger Fears told police that Mikel Fears was armed and "threatening to use the firearm the first time he saw a cop." According to the police report, Mikel Fears eventually exited the building and began talking with the responding officers. He was soon arrested without further incident. Police also recovered a loaded shotgun at the scene.

Mikel Fears is an unopposed candidate for the Ward 6, Position 2 position on the Jonesboro City Council.

We need good people on the council, and furtunately, most of those leaving are the ones that have major issues,(except Faye McCall) and most of those staying are less volatile. That is speaking generally, of course. I don't know Fears, never heard of him, but he doesn't sound like the sort we need. Are we stuck with him ?

Tim McCall is staying and he is just as bad as Hargis and Furr. He just is more quiet. He is a coward and a dishonst jerk. Perfect for our council I suspect. I wish would could get a council that has some intelligence!!! Not have people like Hargis, Fear and McCall

Most of the time we do go out in public and voice our opinion ... but first, we usually get real drunk, too, just to show we're sincere. You can tell we really mean it by the way we slur our words. We only type on the blog page when we come in from voicing our opinions in public, when we come in to get another beer. Then, you guessed it, we run right back out into the street and get to screaming again. My favorite is to say: I'm drunk as hell ... and I'm not going to type anymore!"

I thought I had done enough stupid things in my life to know what stupid was. In fact, one time I even thought I was wrong, but I found out that I was mistaken.

Apparently getting wasted at work and threatening to kill yourself and maybe your wife, or a cop, is stupid, in your opinion. In my opinion it's far worse than stupid. It's like extra-secret double-stupid. Actually it's not stupid, it's sad for him, scary for everyone else.

Please dont speak as if you know what your talking about... He did not get wasted at work. He went there after being somewhere else where he had been drinking. He also never threatened to kill his wife or a cop. So, unless you know what you are saying is 100% accurate, please shut your mouth!

I do feel sorry for the guy and his family! However, drunk (regardless of where it started) at the office with a loaded gun is at least an unstable individual. This story isn't far from the Jimmy Ashley debacle. Whos next? Guess it could be me since I'm such a coward and maybe less than 100% accurate? Ease up.....everyone makes mistakes and some mistakes cost more than others.

I agree. Re-read the article. It never says that he threaten the cop. Instead it says he was threatening to use the firearm the first time he saw the cop. I took that to mean on himself. Does anyone know the outcome of his hearing today?

I agree. "Shut Up" suggests that he knows every detail. Sorry I wasn't there ... Sorry I didn't know that he got drunk somewhere else ... Sorry I didn't hear every word he said, to his wife, the police ... but I don't hang out in the bars or wherever he was, and I don't hang out at Williamsons just in case some employee comes in drunk with a shotgun.

If "Shut Up" was there, or actually saw or heard anything at all, whatsoever, in person, he might be more help to his apparent best buddy if he would just say so, and give us the straight scoop. Just saying "shut up" sure does not make me think better of Fears.

All any of us can believe is what we read in the news, since we were'nt there. I have re-read the article and it does not say that he threatened anyone onther than himself if he saw a cop. Sorry, "Shut Up". I will concede that Fears is just a drunk, not a terrorist.

This is the same guy who drives a black GMC or Chevy pick up truck. Back in April He was doing lines with my son. My son was arrested for armed robbery back in June in Newport and he brought some stolen goods to my house so i had to put him out. Mikeal's wife is an RN at St. Benards or NEA but i believe it is St.Ben.Mikeal is no older than 30-31 years old his wife is in he late 40's like 48-52 years old. I can not remember him ever being sobber. I hope for his wifes sake he did not share needleds with my son.

I hope that's not true ... please. We don't need an alderman like that.

Tim does whatever Judy Furr tells him to. And Judy does what ever Farmer tells her to. In my book we rate a person by the company they keep. McCall is like the poor little nerdy kid that no one liked in school that finally got a postion of power and "pays back" all those bullies of his past by becoming power mad. However, he is very sly in how he follows that orders he is given. Notice, McCall always attacks after someone else has. God forbid I say this, but at least Judy and Alec (in their own twisted way) come out and attack people on their own. Not wait until someone else has knocked them down before pouncing.

Did you go to school with Tim McCall? I did and he had plenty of friends. If you have a problem call him up.

I gotta back Tim on this. I've seen him vote against Judy...how exactly would that be following her orders? Now, he IS an insurance salesman....but I'll forgive him for that. ;-)

I did go to school with him and he was exactly as I said, and it doesn't do any good to call him. He is the opposite of a representative official. Tim does for Tim and no one else....unless it is Judy

So this debate is down to this ... whether Tim McCall had friends in school. It turns out that Hogwash was Tims friend, Papa was not. Glad we got that settled.
