Is is possible to have dish network or direct tv while still keeping suddenlink for internet service? Ive never had any trouble from suddenlink as far as internet service is concerns, but Im tired of their mid 90s cable equipment and hate the new guide. Wondering what options id have.

Yes it is possible. You may be required to have at least basic cable too but its only $10 a month. Plus you'll still get your locals that way.

I'm with Suddenlink at Corp. HQ. More on who I am here: http://www.suddenlink.com/about/executives/ab... .

Perhaps I can work with my colleagues to help address the issues you're experiencing?

Best way to reach me is by email: pete-DOT-abel-AT-suddenlink-DO T-com. I should only need the name on the account to get started. Let me know.

you would need to keep basic to watch the nfl playoff games. cause you can't get them on direct t.v even if you have the n.f.l package. i am paying 162 for suddenlink, and have direct tv just for the sports package. eats at the wallett but i think they have it figured out to where there is not anyway around having a huge bill to be satifisfied. almost like the cable company and dish companys are in cahoots! lol

you shouldn't have to pay for basic cable just to get internet service. we use ritter cable for internet and had dish network for our satelite. we just recentle switched from dish network to regular ritter basic cable to save money but we have never had a problem with there internet.

Well Pete, if you want to know what to help with, read the threads. Your service is lousy, the guide is lousy, your prices are too high, etc. Start at one and go through them all til you finish

Suddenlink? More like SuddenSTINK! Lmao. But seriously, Suddenlink is pathetic. If you have another option for cable or internet, go with that. I don't know anyone that has Suddenlink that is satisfied with their service.

After all the problems with suddenlink,(pixiling, poor signal, them saying it's a "main line problem") I switched to Directv last week for my cable yet I kept suddenlinks basic service and internet (mostly because I can't get local channels YET, but after talking to the FCC yesterday I found out some interesting information about suddenlink and the company that owns KAIT.... can you say monoply!) But acording to them a petition can change that problem.

Anyway, now I have over 260 channels with over 150 of them being HD, local channels and internet and I dropped my total bill by $68.68 so it was definately worth the change for us.

So, Id need to keep the basic cable to get local channels and internet and then direct tv or dish and Id be good to go.

Im seriously considering it. To the suddenlink guy, I appreciate your concern, but I cant continue to pay upwards of $100 a month for cable alone and get less channels, less hd channels, a vastly outdated guide and no apparent intent on improving anything on your companys part.

Ive heard rumor that Time Warner is in the process of coming to the local area here, but as of now, direct tv, dish network and suddenlink are your only real options. and even though their cable service blows, suddenlink does have the best internet as far as speed goes by far here. granted my buddies comcast in little rock makes suddenlink look like crap, you gotta take what you can get.

Have you looked at options to bundle services and save? Our TV-Internet-Phone bundles have proven to be one compelling way for a growing number of families to save/lower household costs.

Pete, can you do something about your commercials? Like, if we already pay for cable service, we never have to watch suddenlink commercials? They are so annoying and not very funny

Well Pete, have you looked into the fact that we are all here complaining about the quality of your services? Why we want to bundle more lousy service together?

Indeed. The cost is not my number 1 concern, its the crappy "improved" guide, the fact I get 30 hd channels and directv and dish people get 60+ for the same or less money, and the fact that while dish customers get upgraded equipment every year or so, Ive had the same dvr box for going on 5+ years with no improvements planned to my knowledge. Its a cost/service ratio, not a cost alone issue.

Well lucky you. I'm glad you enjoy paying more for less. I won't look back either when I leave Suddenlink behind

Try the ATT dsl internet with your satellite tv service. It's $14.95 a month and I have not had any trouble with it at all. No more unplugging the modem and router waiting waiting and replugging everything in every few days. I have a combo modem/wireless router and it has worked from the minute I set it up. Never thought I would recommend ATT but this is a good deal and you don't need to have phone service with them.

I also have Internet through ATT, in my opinion works faster than Suddenlink. Switched our cable to Dish Network and get twice as many channels for half the price.

I currently have the second tier of suddenlink internet along with the expanded package or whatever it is. The internet is amazing but I find it ridiculous that I have to pay 40 bucks a month for 70 channels. And of those 70 channels I watch about 5 of them. The only reason I got the extended or whatever its called is because I wanted mtv.

Suddenlinks prices are too high so in the next few days im going to join the dish network bandwagon. My brother currently pays 90 a month for 200 channels(including all the HD) and it will only cost him 10 dollars more a month to add me on his plan even though I live 20 miles away from him.

My current suddenlink bill is 93 dollars. Since I will be getting rid of the tv they want to charge me 50 a month for the internet.

So that 50 plus 10 dollars is a hell of a lot cheaper than suddenlinks worthless packages.
