John Boehner just announced that there will be no vote in his chamber tonight, thus sending the United States into the abyss.

He owns it.

He owns your tax increase, your milk prices doubling, and most important to most of you gun lovers,... your beer will go up too.

Be sure and send the Speaker a nice e-mail of gratitude.

You wanted higher taxes. You got'em. And know that you have higher taxes you complain. Didn't Obama say he was not going to raise taxes on the middle class? Yet, here he is, making a deal to raise taxes on the middle class. It,s not the just one party to blame, it is both parties to blame.

Dec 31, 2012, 43 mins ago -- If Congress fails to act, about $600 billion in tax increases and government-wide spending cuts will begin taking effect after midnight, harsh measures that could push the U.S. economy into recession.

Under the Senate plan, those with household income above $450,000 or individual income above $400,000 would be taxed at 39.6 percent, up from 35 percent. Those with lower income would be taxed at the current, reduced tax rates put in place under former President George W. Bush.

The aide said *******Democrats did not like the $450,000 threshold for raising taxes on the rich - they wanted $250,000 - or the higher threshold for raising estate taxes.*******

Democrats also are upset that there is no agreement yet to put off the first round of $1.2 trillion in automatic spending cuts.

Republicans already are pushing for switching those across-the-board cuts to savings in Medicare and Social Security and threatening to block a debt limit increase in February unless they get their way. But that is a fight that would most likely play out in January and February.

A group of liberal senators met with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to register anger with the deal being negotiated by Biden, and some aides were dispirited that the vice president, a fellow Democrat, had gone further than they wanted, just as he did in December 2010 when all Bush tax cuts were extended for two years.

Heyasshole, it doesn't work that way. Obumma is the leader of our country, he failed us. The blame goes to him. A strong leader would have seen that a deal that would benefit us took place. Its a shame that these people get paid to fuckover citizens of this country. I'm glad I didn't vote for that pieceofshit.

<quoted text>Republicans are so psychotic and anti-American that Democrats don't seem so bad compared to all of your GOD hating anti-American fascist Republicans. Republican obstructionism IS the problem and has been for the past 4 years. The blame Obama nonsense has no credibility. 98% of the people's taxes go up ONLY because of Republicans. Those are facts, regardless of your endless fascist propaganda. I'm an American, not a traitor Republican OR Democrat. But your pea brain can't comprehend reality outside your Nazi political bubble. Or as your behavior is defined...you are a delusional bigot aka a christian.
But you wanted taxes to go up right? so you'll vote republican next time since you blame them for raising taxes?

I am none of the above but it is sad that you are filled with so much hate. Why are you filled with hate? Why do you call people names? I don't hate Democrats. I just see the kind of future that Democrats want and if we take that path it will lead us to tyranny. This road the Democrats want to take is not new. It has happen before in history and unfortunately it will happen again.

"UPDATE 4:03 p.m. ET: The House of Representatives will not vote Monday on any potential fiscal cliff deal, meaning the U.S. is technically headed over the fiscal cliff. The House will wrap up Monday around 6:30 p.m. ET. After a House GOP Conference meeting at 5 p.m. ET they will have one vote series and then head out for the evening."

<quoted text>Thanks for telling us your life's story. You're just so uninformed with your ancient little tid bits. You Republicans have always exalted fear above freedom and everything. Those like you who believe we have to sacrifice our freedoms so that fascists tyrants can pretend to make us safer as Reagan and both Bushes did, deserve neither. That is why you have NO freedom while pretending you do ! LOL Freedom is NOT "mandatory obedience to government" and never will be.
