Also An important element is that low income and middle-class people who get tax refunds are spending it on their families. Purchasing creates product demand. Product demand keeps manufacturing going and creates jobs. It also helps small local business owners when you spend that money at their businesses. It greatly helps local economies in smaller towns and rural areas.

and 'no' has understanding
Just like you "has" not even a basic understanding of the economic statistics you are talking about, before you accuse Romney of not understanding what he's talking about, why don't you do you own homework and realize that those 47 (actually 49%) of Americans who pay no net federal income taxes is based on working-age adults. Also, the 8.2% unemployment number does not equal 8.2% of the population. That U6 number only includes people who continue to file for unemployment and/or report that they are actively looking for work. If you add in all the people who have given up and either stopped looking or have gotten a douche lawyer to hook them up with Social Security Disability for their "bad back" or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, the number jumps to about 30%. The 47% also includes Social Security recipients who are, like it or not, drawing a check from the government and not paying net federal taxes.

All those FACTS aside, Romney never called anyone freeloaders. And his comment that he didn't care about them was only in the context that his platform of lowering taxes would not resonate with the portion of the population that doesn't pay any.

Republicans may not "hate" the poor but they have no use for them because they can't get anything from them. The GOP likes the trickle down system, sort of like a glutton eating at a large table of good food and believes the crumbs that fall off are for the poor and they should be grateful for them. They hate welfare but love billion dollar bailouts for them and their friends, they love war because its not their rich kids that get killed, again its the poor that die. For those of us that were around we remember the draft system up until 1969 was controlled by a "local" draft board and they chose who to send to war and believe me it was always the poor kids. Then came the lottery system that made it harder for them to protect their young.
I agree there is way too much handouts in America and a good place to start is with foreign aid, bank bailouts, farm subsidy, and short sales of real estate. Banks should not be allowed to get too big to fail. This is the result of deregulation. Lobby groups should be eliminated and elected officials should get the same retirement as working people.

By receiving a tax refund, people are loaning the government money all year interest free. It would be better to put more of their wages in their pocket every paycheck. By basing your statement on refunds, those businesses are only helped Feb-May. They are not going to hire people for that. While people like those refunds it really is not a great way to plan finances.

I agree with the 'put more of their wages in their pockets' year round. That's good economics, especially in the time of a recession. But can you imagine the fit that would be thrown if the people who really needed the money (middle-class) got less cut than them (the rich)? Look what Romney calls them as it stands now.

I am in the middle class. I have no idea what this means:

"got less cut than them"

As long as a person pays within the tax laws, it's not my business or anyone else's what they they pay or receive back. Romney did not insult the middle class. All he said is that there is a certain group of people who will not vote for him no matter what so he does not worry about those votes. Why would he since they have already decided. He needs to go after the undecideds and wavering dems.

Don't blame us. We voted for Mc Cain and Romney. This makes it official. There are more stupid people than intelligent ones because anyone with a brain would not have voted for this loser-loving, lazy bum pitying president. The US is now officially an OBAMUNIST COUNTRY! Let's all applaud the simpletons who voted him in!! B

The worthy poor or working class refuse to take any hand outs. They work hard, feel blessed to be here and have jobs. Their work to give their children more than they had. They are a strong foundation of what our country was built on. Now we gave the farm away to the third world and they own us. It's bullshit!!!

I appreciate 6string's comments because I know this guy. HE's a musician who grew up with money and lives off of his common law wife. HE is an idiot, but thinks he's very intelligent. His old man taught him to be a fascist and to hate minorities and poor people. HE barely made it through high school, but he knew everything he ever needed to know by junior high, so the rest was a waste Don't buy his crap, as he would spit on a poor lady struggling along the sidewalk and laugh. God forbid that you ever need anyone's help, because nobody will care. You made your bed. Congratulations You're the man, cocky and always right and far to the RIGHT where the haters are.

Barack Obama met with the Queen of England . He asked her, "Your Majesty, how do you run such an efficient government? Are there any tips you can give to me?"

"Well," said the Queen, "The most important thing is to surround yourself with intelligent people."

Obama frowned, and then asked, "But how do I know the people around me are really intelligent?"

The Queen took a sip of tea and replied, "Oh, that's easy: you just ask them to answer an intelligent riddle." The Queen then pushed a button on her intercom and said, "Please send Tony Blair in here, would you?"

Tony Blair walked into the room and said, "Yes, Your Majesty?"

The Queen smiled and said, "Answer me this please, Tony, your mother and father have a child. It is not your brother and it is not your sister. Who is it?"

Without pausing for a moment, Tony Blair answered, "That would be me." "Yes! very good," said the Queen.

Obama went back home to ask Joe Biden, his Vice President, the same question. "Joe, answer this for me. Your mother and your father have a child. Itís not your brother and itís not your sister. Who is it?"

"I'm not sure," said Biden. "Let me get back to you on that one." He went to his advisers and asked every one, but none could give him an answer.

Finally, Biden ran in to Sarah Palin while eating out one night. Biden asked, "Sarah, can you answer this for me?
Your mother and father have a child and it's not your brother or your sister. Who is it?"

Sarah Palin answered right back, That's easy, it's me!" Biden smiled and said, "Thanks!" Then he went back to speak with Obama."Say, I did some research and I have the answer to that riddle. It's Sarah Palin."

Obama got up, stomped over to Biden, and angrily yelled into his face, "No you idiot! It's Tony Blair!"

AND THAT IS PRECISELY WHATíS GOING ON AT THE WHITE HOUSE.

Republicans don't hate poor people, we just don't believe in the redistribution of money. We worked our butts off for the money we earned and then the government wants to just take it away from us to give it to lazy, poor people wanting handouts? No sorry, you people should have made better life choices.

The fact is that LBJ started the "WAR on POVERTY" in the '60's!

It was nothing more than another "Wealth" Re-distribution scam of the Liberal (Socialist) Left.

How is that "WAR" going for you LEFTIES?

We have MORE poor people today than EVER in the history of this country!

My hat is off to Darth Soetoro and his minions.

It's not just the poor, Republicans hate anyone that isn't willing to vote against their own best interest.
