I was in court Monday with a friend who recieved a couple hundred in pay before release. It was crazy how many people went to jail that day. They didn't even have room to seat them all. I'm just curious if anyone knows how full they are? My friend doesn't have the money to get out and is hoping they'll just release her. It's happened before to a couple of people I know because the jail was too full. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Craighead is ALWAYS full. Most people on a PBR will get released early to make room for new people. Your friend may do some time, but it won't be the full time on PBR.

They might let you slide a few hours on flat time. If your time is up at, say 6 pm, you might get out that morning if they need the bed.

do revocation of probation charges under the amnesty program usually require jail time if everything is taken care of before court?

If your flat time is up at 1pm on a Sunday but you still have alot of pbr, is there a chance of getting out or is there a better chance on Monday?

I think they should make a general population area, outside in tents, with several armed guards.

Its about time we start treating criminals like what they are, criminals!!! I'm not necessarily sayin if it's your first time or whatever that you be treated poorly, But for repeaet offenders especially repeat offenders caught for the same crime. It's time they earned what they get while in prison. No Tv, No cards, No dominoes. Work all day, sleep at night. Everyday til you're out. Except Sunday, let them worship if they believe if not then they work.

That's what I'm sayin'. Don't get in trouble, won't be any trouble. Personally, I think they should speed up the death penalty process. That, would make more room, for more morons. Texas, has the death penalty and THEY USE IT! The best part is, if your a 3 time loser, for a violent crime, BAM, you go straight to the front of the line. They should do that in Arkansas. It might cause some people to think, before they act.

Poor people steal, then taxpayers pay for their court appointed attorneys.

Be fair now, poor peeps I see getting in jail are poor because they spend all their $$ on booze, drugs, and cigarettes and it's not just the stealing they do it is also stuff like drunk driving and child endangerment. There's a house full of druggies, smokers, you name it about 5 or 6 houses down from my friend on the corner and the head alcoholic just got out (again) so there's room for one more now. Another guy guy told us they had to sell their TVs and stuff to get the car out of impound and it's been party central there ever since, blocking the street with cars, atvs, trucks and even a stretch limo. Cops could keep the jail full just by raiding that place about every day, its crime central out there, 2 bad because theres some nice families there still.
