I would suggest you make the rounds. JPS will more than likely offer the type of special needs that's you require. As far as housing there's good and bad everywhere.

All of the schools will provide special education services. However, you need to have your son enrolled in extra programming, like speech, physical and occupation therapy. You should visit Shelby Knight at the Parent Training Institute here in Jonesboro. They will advise you on schools and even visit with you as you transition your son.

My son has special need. He goes to school at Brookland. They gave been great with him. I do encourage you to meet with Shelby. More than anything I rncourage you to learn the laws pertaining to special education. You need to know what he is entitled to, you may have to fight for it.

Valley View, JSD and Brookland are my favorites. I looked at ALL the schools before moving back. Westside is good but I'm not sure how well they'd handle your child's special needs. I graduated from Nettleton a long time ago, but its gone to crap. Don't send your kid there

Stay with a all white school if you can and you'll and the kids will be ok.

My brother has autism and we put him in nettleton because they have the best special needs classes in Jonesboro area. But I also know the special needs teacher at Annie camp( jhs) and she is very devoted.

I Have Special Needs I went to Nettleton is great as far as K-9 in high school They are great if u have to miss days for treatment etc but the Teachers are a Case by Case basis some will work with u and some will not

I Would try Brookland First then Jonesboro I Heard Nettleton Has A drug problem in the high school level I Do Not Know about VV or Westside

but whatever choice u make u have to sit down with School Staff and explain your child condition

if he has trouble READING being in socal with the kids they will put him in seif contain when i was in Kinergarden i could barely do anything without help

i wish u luck
