There are 9 TVs across the front (usually 3-4 are on the same channel...why?) and 3 in the 'women only' area....yet there is no way to listen. I asked at the desk if they could at least turn on the closed caption, they nodded; that was over a week ago and still no closed caption. Progress in the women's dressing room hasn't progressed since they opened almost 2 weeks ago...no lockers, no faceplates on the outlets, etc.
It is a very good place to exercise on a budget...but there is room for improvements.
I just don't really get why they have all those TVs and no words! There are an additional 3-4 over in the weight area, all on a sports channel.
Thanks for the reviews. Surely they plan on using one of those systems that let you listen to the tv over your radio earplugs. Only my IPOD isn't a radio!

How are the tanning beds there? Do they compare to other tanning salons?

Thanks for letting us know. Since most people go to a gym to watch TV, it's definitely a place to stay away from even if the equipment does work. LOL

If you knew anything about doing cardio, especially for minutes on end, is that it gets boring pretty fast. Having something to watch keeps the mind off of quitting.

was a member of trim gym since 1995...made improvements over the yr and now.....ghetto...I can understand staying at the TG if u play raq.ball, swim, etc..but I work late and LOVE the 24/7!! Clean, everyone is nice, GREAT new tanning beds...and it has what I need so I like it but I would agree it's not for everyone; just what fits ur needs best.

Wow.You set the maturity bar really low. Let me guess....your are a single, sexually frustrated mid-20's "frat boi" who can't figure out why he can't keep a real girlfriend. You're post should answer all those questions. You made my day man lol.
And why does this even matter? Do you realize how expensive it is to keep one of those? lol

What's up with those nasty brown couches? Look like refugees from a yard sale.

Last time I was there they were selling Otis spunkmier cookies at the counter...I liked the overdose of calories just after I worked out. Good gym though, tv screens and a daycare. But on my salary 10 fitness may just be the right savings that I need.

Why is the sauna closed again? Didn't they rebuild it this time last year?

Something is always broke. Its getting old and run down. I guess he doesnt have the money to fix it or else he's putting it all in his pocket instead of back into the business.

it is...I walked back and looked and it looks great...everything is twice as big and brand new....if you cant see the changes they are making. than you must work for the competition because I think they are always doing something there.
They have more traffic flow than all other clubs together and been open forever. Give these new clubs 6 months and they will look older than the trim gym. Ive seen all the other ones do it.
One more thing, Im still paying my original dues from the 80's and they have never jacked my price up. No annual fees or anything. I promise. no club in town can say that! Do the math, 10 fitness is not 10....its 13 or 14 with annual fees. Ill pay 15 dollars more and get everything else the trim gym offers.

Trim gym is like highway construction....never ending repairs and upgrades that we will never see completed.
In terms of gyms, they have more to offer (gym, pool, tennis, etc) but if you just want to do cardio and weights and/or tan then go to 10 Fitness. Cheaper too..

of course if you have had a cheap membership since the 80's I wouldnt be changing either lol

I worked there for 14 years and even though they made changes for the better. You get what you pay for and I think the Brown's were sone of the nicest folks I have ever worked for. I plan on going back as soon as I can. I can't believe people can say such harsh things and still go work out. If you don't like it leave.

I wish you would come back to work there,Vicki! You're right about the Brown's.It's not easy especially in an economy like this,to keep everything in perfection and working all of the time.Especially how hard some members are on things.I've seen grown men act like kids and throw weights on the floor, slam machines down, and in general have disregard for the property.I guess they think a membership also means it's theirs to do with as they please!

I love the Trim Gym and I'm glad to have a membership there.$10 Fitness might be for some people who don't care who they work out around, how sanitary the stuff is, or whether the gym will be there in a year when the owners realize that maintaining a gym on minimalistic financial commitments is very hard.

In the years I've been in Jonesboro I've seen one gym thrive and succeed. That's the Trim Gym. I've worked at a couple other gyms, never at the Trim Gym, The Athletic Club was a decent competitor until they started catering to the senior citizens and refused to expanded cluttering up and already crammed space...then they went and partnered with the hospital.

It will be interesting to see how well $10 fitness does when St. Bernards opens their new gym.

The Trim Gym is BEST!!! I love that place and everybody that works there is sooo nice. I have been a member since 2003 and I'm very happy there and because of all the machines, classes & trainers that they have I look the way I look :) Thank you Trim Gym!!!!!
