Yeah it is.... Seven Deadly sons?? Gluttony and sloth are two of them. Check Proverbs. If you plan to use the Bible as a weapon to bully people, you should at least study the whole thing.

That's the problem with 90% of these rednecks who are posing as christians and posting here, they haven't seen the inside of a church in at least 10 years. The fastest way to convert a redneck to christianity? Start talking about Gays & Lesbians.

I know, but it makes me sad. People like that turn people away from God. Jesus didn't teach hate.

Where is the scripture that says being gay is a bigger sin than say gluttony or hate?
Some of you seem to have a list of sins you think will be forgiven because we all fail and are human, but then you've picked and chosen the ones you think are unforgivable. John 3:16 did not say "except gays, they're gonna burn"

Just for the record, I don't think the guy should speak. Not because he's gay, but because as far as I can tell he was never invited. His dad tried to bully him in and when that failed they played the gay card.

I wonder how the Jones stand on this. They got rid of the last supt and since they are buds with the Huds, they will be ready to get rid of Mitch. Such a dilemma.

So why was this a news item in the first place?

OH YES, the liberal media wants to shove homosexuality down our throats at every chance they get.

There's nothing in the constitution that says create an airforce either. Yet we have one.
The job given to the federal government by the constitution is defense. The airforce is a part of the defense.
The Constitution does state that the Federal government is not to limit the free exercise of religion.

I doubt that any of the students who aren't already gay would become gay from being in the same room with him for a couple of hours. You can't catch 'GAY' by breathing the same air or by being sneezed on. He wasn't coming to try to convert anybody. He was coming to offer the students encouragement to follow their dreams and pursue their goals. He's probably the most successful graduate the school has ever had an could offer hope to many of them.
Beides, they will probably be in the room with him for a couple of hours anyway. His baby sister is graduating from SHHS that night, and I don't believe there is a rule to prevent a brother from attending a sister's graduation (although there might be).

You don't have 100% freedom of religion; you never have had it, never will have it. There are reasonable limits to your "free exercise" of religion. If one group ever does get complete freedom of religion, it will exist only for them and we will have a religious dictatorship. A christian based dictatorship would not be any better than an Islamic dictatorship.

It's ironic that within 1 generation, the good things have become bad and the bad thing have become good. Really sad...... revelations??? Oh wait, never mind, the bible is a bad thing now.

Read it and weep:

Separation of church and state in the United States

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Separation_of_ch...

Jefferson wrote, "I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should 'make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof,' thus building a wall of separation between Church & State."

In the court's 1947 Everson v. Board of Education decision, Justice Hugo Black wrote,'In the words of Thomas Jefferson, the clause against establishment of religion by law was intended to erect a wall of separation between church and state.' It is only in recent times that separation has come under attack by judges in the federal court system who oppose separation of church and state (Why The Religious Right is Wrong About Separation of Church & State, Robert Boston, Prometheus, Buffalo, New York, 1993, p. 221).

Only when religion is used to hate others than it's wrong. At my advanced age I don't understand why it's such a issue to let others live their lives as they see fit. All the gays are asking for is the same rights that we take for granted. If you are religious than enjoy your freedom but don't try taking freedoms from others who are just entitled to live their lives as they wish. keep religion out of folks bedrooms and schools
