There is a guy Doug Cousins n.a.p.s. out of Pocahontas that has the info on it. He pretty much has the scoop on all of N.E. Ar. on haunted places within 100 miles in any direction of here. I think is is www.northarkansasparanormalsociety.com is where you can contact him. He is collecting info on all places and stories. That is a spooky place though.

The graveyard was named for the Keller family, Uriah and Julia, who arrived in the early 1850s from South Carolina, according to Harry Lee Williams' History of Craighead County, written in 1930.

well, if you want to check out a creepy
cementary, go to Bassett, Arkansas.
in the older part of the cementary, will absoultly creep the best of the best out.i was helping a friend do some family history, and i decided to go out and check it out. it was broad daylight. as i was walking through the older part of the cementary,i thought i heard someone behind me. i didnt see anyone, but, the hair on the back of my neck stoood up and i thought i heard someone say, get out of here. and believe me, i did. if i'd not been alone, i wouldnt have thought much of it. i have relatives buried there, and was in osceola, so i thought that i'd drive out and see if i could find anything on her family. i didnt bargin for a fright.

What family are you looking for. The reason I asked is I was out there doing the same research also, And experience the same feeling. My grandmother is buried in the back with her 1st husband.

i was in what is called the "old" part of the cementary. the person who's family i was looking for didnt have anyone buried there. i do have some distant relatives buried there. it had been years since i'd been out there a lot had changed. i parked on the road and walked toward the center of the old part of the cementary and came back across to the new part. as i was walking, i thought i heard someone walking behind me. i stopped and it stopped. i turned and didnt see anyone. so, i thought that i was just hearing things. as you know, the highway isnt all that far and maybe a truck or something. i heard it again and but, i heard someone say get out of here. thats been several years ago. i went out since then with a cousin and didnt feel or hear anything. maybe cause there was 2 of us. my little brother was buried there. when my dad passed, my mom had him moved to jonesboro. i could tell where his grave was, there was a grave of a little boy with a chain link around it. not a fence, but 4 posts with a chain connecting the posts. his grave was a couple down from that. the chain is gone and i had trouble finding my realatives. not planning on going back anytime soon. not by myself, anyway. the little boy's stone had a pic of him on it. i remember as a little girl just staring at it. it was odd as a youngster to see a pic of a baby on a tomb stone.

A bunch of friends and I had a bonfire party at Keller's Chapel during Christmas break back in 96, I believe. It was kinda creepy, but we after some beers we didn't notice.

A few of us went back that summer and walked the so called "3 Gates of Hell", and while walking through the woods where there was no moon light shining, the only thing hellish about it was the heat that night. We also got lost when we made it to the main road and some drunk guys drove us back to our car. Good times.

In 1984-1986, I was one of many Nettleton students who went out to Keller's. You used to go the the end of the road in which is now carriage rd of present day. Park at what was called the coon club and walk to the right of the club out into a field. There was a barn out in the field that had a red upside down cross paint inside it and at one time there was some type of pit that had been used for a fire. I have been chase in high speed by two men in a car that was in black ropes and pointed a pistol toward me and a friend as we came up to the bypass where big lots now would be located. we have seen six to seven men and women in ropes walking near the watershed lake passed the club. One of my friends mother was at the time working for the Jonesboro Police Dept. and was told that they had asked numerous times to the owner of the property to just tear down the barn and this would stop the kids tresspassing , yet he would not. In the summer it was a place to take girls and scare them for fun, yet in the winter there was something of a ritual going on.

I once heard a story about kellers chapel. Im sure its not true but i thought i would share. I heard that it was one of the first churches built in this area. It was built so that traveling minsters could preach there. One day this older man showed up and he was one of the best that had ever showed up. One day he took all the kids in from the church on a walk to view gods creations and they were gone for a very long time. Finally the parents went looking for them and they found the preacher covered in blood and the children all dead. It was said that the people hung him in the church and locked it up forever. It was then said that many years passed the first people that opened the church seen the body still hanging there and removed it. Im sure this story was told just to scary me as a kid but i thought i would share. And i was wondering if anyone else had heard a story along those lines?
That's the story I was told when I moved here for college in 2003.

There was never a preacher that murdered any children at Keller's Chapel. The story is that when the moon shines on the grave of the 9 infants that died in the influenza epidemic, you will hear the babies cry. Its was apparently a center for satanic worship and drug use in the 60's and 70's. Thats why there are no windows, they were blocked up to help stop the vandalism in the chapel, which has never been a church. It was built years ago to hold funerals in and houses the yearly Memorial Day service for the cemetary. Four generations of my family (Clark) are buried to the right of the chapel. There are a lot of reports of hauntings in the new houses in the Chapel Hill subdivision, which is on the immediate east side of the cemetary. It is a very spooky place at night, and a lot of people have heard and seen strange things over the years, but please don't vandalize. The chapel and cemetary have seen enough destruction.

Some friends and I headed down old Carriage road a year back and walked to the end...We saw a dead dog corpse...picked to the bone...laying on top of a purple blanket with a circle of stones surrounding it...we flipped the dog over and there were used Mustard and Mayonase packets underneath it as well as an empty Mountain Dew and Aquafina bottle...we turned left and followed the trail and stumbled over an old Civil War graveyard in the middle of nowhere...creepy....there was also a picture of a cross hung on a tree with bulletholes in it
