if it is all the same they need to completely stop at all stop signs. Traffic lights don't jump on a side walk.
Cut throught parking lots. Blinkers head lights etc.

The point was this all has nothing to do with this incident.

I am sorry but cyclist do not watch these dumb ass drivers. They put themselves at risk riding roads like Woodsprings that's curvy and ride it at night. Just stupid! Yes they have the right, but if your six foot under your rights will be ended. Ride where traffic is low, use some common sense.

That's exactly my point, and bicycles breaking the law, what they do, whatever has nothing to do with this. If I remember correctly, they were riding in the right lane and were hit from behind by a car. All this "bicycles run stop signs" is irrelevant. It has nothing to do with this incident.

I live out North of town and cyclists come down our road on a regular basis, really often. One day my husband was starting to pull out of our driveway onto the street and a cyclist came whizzing down the hill and ripping around the curve and did not see my husband's truck already out in the road making his way onto the street and nearly hit my husband's truck head on. The cyclists flipped my husband off, and yelled out to my husband, "are you gonna take the whole [email protected] road Asshole"!!!!????? My husband was furious, and swore he would get some fine grain sand and some small bee bees for the curve in the road and see if maybe that hateful nasty cyclist might later wish to find a safer route. Cyclists spread out into the streets blocking traffic in big bunches, and totally ignore the cars trying to proceed down the road. If they want to SHARE the road they need to drive single file just like we have to. Most of them are yuppie jerks who think they are better than everyone else anyway, the clothing and the bicycles they ride are high dollar and they think they are some kind of elite club. They are out of their element and they need to realize that, and behave themselves and abide by the laws like the cars do or find themselves injured by an accident from a situation of their own making. Stop yelling obscenities at drivers in cars and get off your high horse!!!

Are you out of your mind? What makes you think cyclists think we are better than you because we have a nice bike? I am a cyclist. And first of all my bike was about a thousand dollars, certainly not 10 grand (although those do exist). I don't think I am better than anyone, and whether you like it or not, cyclists have the legal right to be on the road just like you, as long as we obey traffic laws. Most other cyclists I see around here do get as far to the right as they can, but seriously, how much of a hurry are you in if you cannot wait two seconds to get around us? Here has been my experiences as a cyclist in Jonesboro, and mind you, I DO obey all traffic laws; I DO wear a helmet; I DO wear flourescent clothing so you can see me; and I DO get as far to the right of the road as I can.
1)I have had people nearly hit me because they were distracted playing with their phone.
2)I have had people shout at me when they pass me--that is dangerous--it could cause me to fall into the road and get hit.
3)In the winter, I had someone throw a giant Sonic coke all over me--including my hands. It was very cold that day, and the drink soaked through my cycling gloves and numbed my hands.
4)I had someone through an apple at my head. I DID fall off that time, but luckily did not get hit.
Yes, I do know there are cyclists around here that don't obey traffic laws, etc; but most of us do. Perhaps what you are really trying to say is you feel intimidated by the fact that we are fit and healthy and enjoy exercise and you are probably a fatass that sits around licking cheeto crumbs off your hands whining about your fatness.
Did you pay for tags for your bicycle ?
Did you have to have bicycle insurance to get your registration?
You can wear fluorescent colors ride in pairs if you may, whatever argument you want feet powered bikes don't have the same right as engine powered vehicles that PAY for tags..etc..
I hope your not the genius that thought she could bike through a thunderstorm ....or flips off 18 wheelers for getting to close ??!

You are absolutely incorrect in your assumption that paying registration or insurance is a requirement to be allowed the rights and privileges of the road. If you do not believe me you may go to the Arkansas code 27-49-111

"Every person riding a bicycle or an animal, or driving any animal drawing a vehicle upon a highway, shall have all the rights and all of the duties applicable to the driver of a vehicle, except those provisions of this act which by their nature can have no applicability"

There are specific codes that are specific to cycling and treatment of cyclist but most are to do with not operating on a freeway or controlled access roadways and minimum passing distance for motor vehicle traffic.

Not to get off the rants of bicycle hate, but considering that we believe this group in particular was following the law and causing no trouble, are they going to file charges on the driver? It seems odd that charges haven't been mentioned. How do you accidentally hit a group like that? He had to have seen them....
