I think this would be good for the state. Play in Fayetteville for Arkansas home games, and Little Rock for ASU home games. Would be great in hoops, and baseball too.

It hasn't happened simply because we (ASU) have not been respected in athletics. Period. But it's steadily changing. It should start up in time, when? I don't know. But hopefully soon.

Most in-state "rivalry" games consists of either a) teams in different major conferences (e.g., SC vs. Clemson) or b) teams in the same conference (see AU vs.'Bama, Cal vs. Stanford, WSU vs. UW, OSU vs. OU, and about 20 others).

A "rivalry" game cannot also be a payout game. That's why you haven't seen a "rivalry" game between UA and ASU. There's a reason why Ohio State vs. Toledo isn't a rivalry.

However, Ohio State versus Ohio actually is a rivalry game I believe. Now I don't know the details of it and if it's a payout game but I'm fairly certain it is a rivalry game.

My mistake, they didn't play this year, I guess it what just last year, but they did play Miami(OH) this year. My mistake on thinking Ohio St. played Ohio every year.

Every SEC football team plays at least one in-state opponent every year EXCEPT UofA. Why can't they get off their backward ass, take a chance, and move forward ? Too bad ULM took them down. It made the reality sink in that the Sunbelt is getting better. I don't think it will happen as long as Frank Broyles is still around.

You don't give a legitimate argument and ur facts about the ULM game are false I asked intelligent conversation not your anger about what you think and how u think ASU is better. The question was do you think the LSU game is the reason why they don't play the in state rivalry. But I don't recall Missouri having an in state rivalry but I could be mistaking.

I may be mistaken but I don't think that there is another D-1 program in Missouri. I think D-1 programs in the same state should play each other, no matter what conference they happen to be in. It doesn't have to be a "payout" game. Like someone else said. Have a home & home between UofA & ASU. Fayetteville & Little Rock.

Not playing ASU certainly isn't holding us back.

What does Frank Broyles have to with anything? He isn't even the originator of "The Policy."

I'm not sure that there exists a recognizable college football "rivalry" that consists of a BCS team vs. a non-BCS team. If it does, it's a very, very rare exception. This is especially true considering that the vast majority of rivalry games have been fostered over 50+ years and are now conference games.

Why doesn't ASU play against UCA or Tech or UAPB? Ohh I know! Because it wouldn't benefit them or mean anything at all! Kinda like UofA playing against ASU! Why does everyone focus on claiming UofA is so scared to play ASU? Jonesboro isn't on the map to anyone other than Northeast Arkansas. Just as Conway isn't to anyone other than Central Arkansas. ASU is having some good years but they are still a Sunbelt conference team with no tough opponents beaten. When they start beating the teams that pay them millions at the beginning of the season, UofA might consider them an eligible opponent.

ASU played UCA last year and they're playing UAPB next year I believe. Your argument is ridiculous.

And these are the fans that know so much. Haha..LSU has played ULM and ULL, Tennessee has played MTSU and Memphis. Troy has played Bama, WKY plays Kentucky, FIU and FAU plays the Florida schools, North Texas plays Texas in 2014..

ASU played UCA in football last year, in basketball this year, and pine bluff next year.

There was no rivalry between Louisville and Kentucky until the were forced to play each other. As a result of the hype, they both experienced better recruiting and got better in basketball and Louisville got better in Football. Neither school shut down their program after a loss. Now it's one of the top games played annually in Kentucky.

I don't see it. The Hogs who played LSU would roll over ASU. Look, if they were to play next year, with both teams likely having new coaches, all this clamor for this game would stop after Arkansas wins 49-7. There's just too big a gap in talent when it comes to the two teams.

Both teams shared the same opponent this year.

Remember what happened?

Regardless of the gap in talent, John L. would have figured out a way to screw it up.
