Does anyone know our Jail Admin., John P.M. Smith? He is a piece of work. Worked for him a while and he is one of the biggest a*^holes ive ever worked for. His side kick, Jeremy Sparks, is the next biggest a*^hole. Ty is just there as a "patsy". Cant get anyone to back you up when you go in a unit to break up a fight or whatever, everyone is afraid of being fired for doing something the wrong way. Everyone out here is afraid of being fired for doing something or not doing something. Stress is a mile high and getting worse. The Sheriff is just as bad if not worse.

so, its usually the ex inmates who are crying and whining about the jail, or the staff or whatever. I have spent my fair ammout of time in that place. I have known John Smith outside of the facility as well as while being an inmate. Sheriff McCann also. They are all great guys that do their jobs as best they can with what they have to work with. If you are a jailor or staff that is crying about the management you can freakin move on to another job, not like it takes a real education to be a jailor. Go to another county! to the inmates I say shut up! No, you can't go to another county but you are there because you messed up. Do your time quietly and go home. Thats what I did.

WELL...what can I say..Don't know who"Inmate" Little Rock, AR is but it you have spent time with Jack and John P.M. then you know you have just told the biggest lie of your life John is a A** and he knows it that's the problem he knows it and is proud of it. Jack well lets just say people should be glad he is not running again. If the next Sheriff has an since he or she will get rid of Smith as fast as thery can.

John PMS Smith. The detention center would be a lot better off without him. He needs to treat people better and he needs training to learn how to do his job.

You are right on the mark...but the Sheriff's Office doesn't see it that way!! What do you think their problem is??

Sheriffs office knows what is going on but the ones who can do something have their hands tied and cant, but give it till election time and the ship will start getting a little shakey for the upper management at the jail. All the jailers are stressed and leaving to find other jobs. All the higher ups know how to do is yell and cuss at their employees. There are SO many new ones at the jail that I am surprised nothing big has happened that got someone hurt out there. Even the new ones are only there for a short time and leave it is so bad. For all of you that talk sh*t about it, lets see you go work by yourself all the time, watching 150+ inmates and see how you like it. There are so many who work by themselves all the time and arent worried about the inmates, they worry about getting wrote up and cussed at because they missed a cellcheck or left their area for a little time to run inmates to booking. Something needs to change, too many out their on high bloodpressure and depression meds, but in times like this.....it pays good.

I know they stay because they have to pay their bills and feed their families. I just don't understand why the Sun or KAIT doesn't do their home work. WE NEED A CHANGE BAD!!! Hope the people of Craighead County see that it happens.

John P M wanted all the old hands to leave. They were making good money. Now he can pay the new ones alot less. He will have more money to spend on his little squat squad in the jail.Not that they ever do anything.

What do they pay their jailers? Isn't there a law that requires one jailer per so many inmates, no one should ever be going into a block alone to break up a fight or whatever?? I used to know a women that worked out there and she loved it, 2 days on and 2 days off.

She probably worked there back when Norris Watkins ran it. Start off at around $14 an hour. You do work 2 on and 2 off, 12 hour shifts. If she loved, why isnt she still out there?

Went to the jpd, I guess the jail was kind of a stepping stone job for her.

Be sure you ask the men running for Sheriff if they are going to keep John P.M. Smith on as admin. and Sparks on as asst. admin. if the are you might want to think long and hard on who you vote for. The Jail has gone to H___ since our Sheriff let that nut job take over.

John P.M. Smith saw the write n on the wall and left before he got fired. Thank you Lord!! I heard Brett Duncan is over the jail now. Hope he does a better job. I hope our new Sheriff keeps a close eye on what is going on. Norris, Matt, Kaye, and Arlen did the best job for the emplpyees and inmates they treated everyone with respect. Why can't they find others like that???

Heard ole Johnny boy is Ann Hudson's secretary now. Didn't he say one time that he could find a job anywhere, but the rest of us couldn't. Hell try and take that office over before you know it. What's he makin about 28000 a yr. lol
