No my husband overdrew our bank account and left. I can't afford to pay it back right now and need a bank account to get paid.

I think all banks use them. Your best bet is to try to work out something with your bank to get paid back what you owe. I worked at a bank and if you go in and be honest with them they will usually let you pay it out.

I'm sorry...that's a real bummer.

Check with your employer and see if they offer a pay card. A lot of places will give you a debit card and deposit the money on that.

Every bank uses a system that will check for things like that but if you go to a small "local" type bank like Ibernia or a community bank or even try a Credit Union....

I'm sorry for your situation and my rude comment

Try Wachovia.com . Ive used it online for over 3 years, and have never had a problem. Wonderful customer service. We had an account with Liberty, but they had a bad habit of putting my husbands check in the account of someone with same name, even when he wrote account # on it. The last time they refused to fix their mistake, which made our account over drawn. I will not pay them a dime considering they owe me over $300.
Anyways, Wachovia didnt punish me for another banks error. The only bummer is there are no local branches. You set everything up online, they send you a debit card, your employer sets up direct deposit, and you are set. If you want checks, dont order from the bank, there are many sites that are much cheaper. walmartchecks.com is where I recently ordered from. Good luck!

I would not suggest Iberia. They do use the same system as larger banks to check for bad accounts, and customer service sucks compaired to when I opened my savings almost 10yrs ago.

Regions doesn't use chexsystems anymore. I actually had to ask them recently. They just check to make sure you don't have any outstanding balances with them

Regions Bank no longer uses Chexsystems, either does first convenience bank, located in Walmart stores. Compass Bank does not use CS, instead uses telecheck.

she ran my credit so far in the dirt she had 9 checking accounts 4 in hot springs and 5 in surrounding areas of there, i did not know if i would be able to get checking account again, i pressed charges and they dropped everything on my credit but the banks would not budge on the charges even with police report! i drove up there and went to court over this girl and all she got was 6 months probation and a 5000 dollar fine!! i desperately need another checking acct, i am also using an online banking system and it sucks but it is the only way i can protect my belongings!!

First National Bank doesn't run Chexsystems before opening the account. They run it afterward. I had a problem with Iberia not depositing correctly and taking FOREVER to clear up all the overdrafts they caused. I switched to First National and I love banking with them. I know some banks also have a "Fresh Start" program where you can make payments on an overdrawn account. Good luck!

go to wal-mart and get the wal-mart money card and you can get your paycheck direct deposited on that card and if you use it at walmart to pay for ( lets say food and stuff) you can get cash back with no atm fees. Becareful not all prepaid visa and mastercards and american express' are the same alot charge fees for everything.

Some banks have a prepaid debit card that you can get when you don't qualify for an account, but fees are high. The Amex bluebird account is amazing! You get the kit at Walmart and set it up. You can order checks and set up direct deposit. Load money for free at any walmart, or if u have a smartphone, you can just take a pic of your check and they put it in your account. I've been very pleased with it.

Regions Bank doesn't use chexsystems, however they use Early Warning Services.....If you open an account, they will allow you to order a debit card, and checks, but if you are in EWS they will close your account AND still deliver the card and checks. THEY"RE BULLSHIT

Regions Bank makes up charges. Your money disappears from your account there!! They ripped me off so many times. I'll never use them again.
