Every time I shop at Wal-Mart I wonder what the next scam will be. This time I ordered a bunch of merchandise online. Had to take 2 items back for about a $45 credit to my credit card. The Wal-Mart receipt states clearly that if you used a credit card all they can do is credit your credit card for the returned merchandise. But Wal-Mart refused to honor their own written policy and forced us to take a Wal-Mart store credit/card for the amount. I call the manager, some dummmy named Jason and he tells me he can't do anything over the phone. But if I will come out there, even though I just did and it didn't work, that he would take care of it. But he didn't have any intention of doing a thing. He was just trying to counsel me so I would drop it. I never wanted a store credit. I wanted my credit card credited exactly as their written policy states ! And since this is just the next scam in a long line of Wal-Mart scams, I'm done shopping at the Chinese store Wal-Mart.
The principle I am living by is if any corporation screws me, then I do without them. If only more people would stop doing business with crooks, liars and greedy bastards. Not doing business with them is the loudest voice you can use against them.

The problem is that Wal-mart requires you to have the credit card with you that you purchased the merchandise with. But does not state that on the receipt's written return policy. I also couldn't find that online in their returns policy. Fitzgerald Casino/Hotel did that to us too, and we didn't like it then either, because they never told us that until we we in store/hotel. And credit card companies have begun to heavily side with their corporate brothers about phony charges on credit cards. DirecTV pulled that on one of our HSBC credit cards.
So instead of getting mad, my solution is always to stop doing business with corporations that do crap like this. Even Suddenlink scammed me and gave me free installation, then charged me for installation and said no one gets free installation. And I went over that point 4 or 5 times before I agreed to their phone service.
I only made this post because of this habitual behavior by almost every corporation the past few years. I'm not one to complain about an occassional screw up.

I agree with you when you say "then I do without them. If only more people would stop doing business with crooks, liars and greedy bastards." but what I can not agree with is the fact that you said "But he didn't have any intention of doing a thing." when you can not know for a fact what his intentions really are/were.

Wal-Mart did NOT state that I had to have my credit card to return the items. I could have easily taken that credit card if they has stated I needed it to return the items. I did 100% of what Walmart requires as stated in their returns policy. Maybe you could see these self-evident facts if you would pull your head out of your ass, troll boy.

Nonsense. He had the chance to do something about Walmart's incompetence and did nothing. So it was crystal clear he not only had no intention of doing a thing, he proved that by refusing to do anything......... but tell me how it was my fault that a huge multi-billion corporation like Wal-Mart doesn't even state their real return policy in writing. Faith, believing without proof, is reserved for God, not WalMart employees as you claim.

Get over it, it's not like they have your card on file at the store that they can credit your money back to. Any retail store you return merchandise to you have to have the card you purchased it on with you to get it put back on the card. Just use the card for gas and be done with it.

Wrong. Wal-mart is only the second company to require me to have the credit card with me that I used for the purchase. And now that I have confirmed that fact, I won't be making any purchases at Walmart using credit cards. I returned several items to KOHLS last week and they didn't need the credit card I used to make those purchases. And what you are not understanding is that Walmart online has different policies than in-store purchases. This is the third time this has happened with Walmart.

Buy American. Yeah, it's easier said than done but it will definitely hurt the Chinese and boost our own economy. And don't fall for that 'assembled in America' line either. The parts may have been made in China, Taiwan, Indonesia or somehere other than the USA.

Here's my two cents... & I'm not putting it on a credit card. By your past experiences I have this "oh so perfect advice"... quit using a credit card as a freaking debit card. It's obvious you don't have the money otherwise common sense would tell you to use a prepaid debit card. Instead you rather pay interest on items you don't really need. Online junkie shopping & credit cards are going to get you in a sh!t pot mess. You're up here b!tching about how they've screwed you, yet majority are living paycheck to paycheck while your online shopping, going to the Casino & flaunting your credit card. I have cards too... for major purchases & for an EMERGENCY. I don't live off of them. Something tells me you do. If this was a doctor bill, cash advance for a down payment on a car or the purchase of a stove... I'd give you some good advice. But that's not the case. How many credit cards & revolving accounts do you have anyway? I'm guessing you're sitting on at least $10,000 worth of credit card debt & make the minimum every month:) By the way... you don't HAVE to put anythin on a credit card. Hotels require one over the phone as security to damages ..you can pay with cash after your stay & your credit card never gets billed.

Not trying to be smart but I thought that was a given. When you purchase on a credit card an return the item. They want to see the card to credit it back. Don't matter if your balance is zero. You will just have a credit on the card for next purchase. Walmart is not the only store that does that.

Yeah, that's called common sense. It's to prevent people from running scams on stolen credit cards and similar behavior. Why wouldn't you bring your card with you when you returned the merchandise? Did you think they could just magically refund your card?

You are absolutely clueless as always. I use credit cards for electronic purchases online. You're just proving what an arrogant computer illiterate ignorant hillbilly you are. PERIOD. and btw....the items I returned were two pair of pants. And you called that "junkie shopping" ! There wasn't one thing in your post that is true. And the thing at Fitzgerald Casino was two years ago, turd monkey ! And what they did was get the CC # over the phone, then demanded we give them the CC information again once we arrived. Since I don't carry credit cards, since I only use them for electronic online purchases, I didn't have the CC with me when we checked into Fitzgerald. And the room was FREE. You are one totally confused little girl that needs to begin to think outside that tiny bubble that contains you're miserable existence !

I prefer to do business with companies that credit your credit card back if you have the receipt and merchandise. And that is every company I do business with except Wal-Mart.
The conclusion to this was that WalMart should just put this part of their return policy in their written return policy. Requiring the credit card when returning items bought with a credit card are only known by store employees. So I guess their excuse is that Walmart can't afford the ink to print that sentence on your receipt and that Walmart can't afford to syncronize their online data for access by in-store employees.

The reason you must have your card is because it's now illegal for Wal-Mart or any retailer to store your entire credit card number. If they were able to retain it to simplify returns, you'd probably bitch and call that a scam too.
