In one of Snowdens public interviews he made a claim that while working at his job supporting the NSA PRISM program, he had the ability to read anybodies email including the POTUS. He further stated all he needed was an email address. In other words he would have to associate an identity to an email address.

That claim tells you something. The NSA is not collecting metadate by personal identity. Americans are not being tracked. Hayden was telling the truth when he testified to Congress that the NSA does not collect personal information on Americans.

Snowden also stated during interview that he didn't want to live in a Society where people were monitored. Then he sought asylum in Russia.

Definately something wrong with that picture.

Obama revoked his passport while he was passing through a Russian airport. Therefore he wasn't able to leave Russia. Lie some more.

I once heard a description of a good scientist that really stuck with me. A good scientist will develop a theory and submit it to the scientific community for review. If the review identifies a failure or a fault with the theory a good scientist will accept the findings and go back to the drawing board with intent of continuing scientific work. A bad scientist will lash out at the review critique with a "I'm right and everybody else is wrong" attitude never accepting the sound and valid review.
There are some bad scientists on this forum. Their denial of their theory rejection is almost exclusively to be vulgar. That when you know they have nothing left.
Another clue: The one that is first to display anger is going to be the loser. Everytime.
I just wanted to point this out. Based on your own statement here, you are one of the bad scientists you yourself are referring to. From a previous post: "Thats what I think and I'm pretty sure I'm right as always." And now from this post: "A bad scientist will lash out at the review critique with a "I'm right and everybody else is wrong" attitude never accepting the sound and valid review." Yep, you just invalidated yourself.

Government abuse and intimidation tactics escalate:

Detention aims to intimidate journalists

http://www.usatoday.com/story/money/columnist...

It's a vivid example of how the war on terror can morph into a war on journalism.

The British government's outrageous nine-hour detention of David Miranda, a 28-year-old Brazilian, for nothing more than being the partner of Snowden saga journalist Glenn Greenwald, was an attempt at pure intimidation.

It's another reminder of how governments, in their efforts to protect freedoms, can sometimes take actions that erode the.

Obama is starting to lose my support.

While this may be the Brits trying to inhibit the press, I can remember how Dubya effectively muzzled the Washington press corp by denying access to media whose reporters pressed him to answer questions. Helen Thomas, who had been covering the Whitehouse beat for over 5 decades was moved to the very back row for pressing Bush when he would dodge her questions. That's an example of what should never happen again. It's bad enough that a handful of super-wealthy men own a lion's share of the major news outlets because the press is the watchdog of a democracy. I do believe for the most part that the news media reported that there were two diametrically opposed schools of thought on Snowden's revelations. It's obvious just from Topix that some see him as a patriotic hero while others see him as a traitor so it's important that the reporting reflects the division o American opinion.

I go along with Freedom of the press. Although I don't think the paparazzi gives much credibility to journalism. They don't seem to understand that people are not obligated to offer a comment.

The measurestick for Snowdens actions is that he didn't change anything. The NSA and their PRISM program continues to march on. There has been a lot of unsubstantiated innuendo about the NSA techniques but nothing has been deemed illegal or underhanded. Nobody at the NSA is going to jail.

I don't even consider the paparazzi to be journalist. Since Justin Beiber peeing in trash cans or serenading his grandmother while naked has no impact on the lives of most Americans, I don't consider them to be watchdogs of much more than the tantrums & antics of spoiled celebrities. The Washington press corp though, is a major source of news that effect our lives and our pocketbooks. The point I was making is simply that most credible news media reported the Snowden affair noting that there were two different schools of thought on Snowden's revelations. I agree that there has been a lot of speculation about what the NSA and other intelligence agencies could conceivably be doing. I would imagine Fox News had a headline that read something like "Muslim Negro Spying On White Job Creators!" Fox News would actually be a level below the celebrity chasing paparazzi because they pretend to be a legitimate news agency whereas the paparazzi just wants to get some proof that The Bieb has started puberty.
