Who do I call for a good home security system in Jonesboro? I just moved here and not so sure this town is safe.

It is dangerous, especially if you are near an extreme couponer, the many women here masturbating at work, and obese Baptists elbowing you out of the way at a Sunday after church all you can eat buffet.

We use Vivint. We can arm and disarm from our phones. Service is great. Ask for Cameron Smith.

Do you have a phone number or where are located? I have gotten a dog since moving here and he came from the Petco's Rescue program...that dog loves everybody!!

You can train the dog as his basic instincts are to protect. Glad u adopted one. But the other poster is correct the obese baptists are probably the worst! We came here from NY 2 years ago and trust me this town is very safe. Most crimes here are not random despite the skewed local tv reports to the contrary. Just know ur surroundings and train ur dog.

Id like to buy a gun, but I have a small child. This town really does scare me. I am biracial,I live in what is called a good neighborhood, I have a good job here but after living here all summer Im still not comfortable here. I havent made many friends, maybe this town is just not for me.I understand this is a college town but doesnt seem like a good place for a single mom like I once thought.

Hubby works nights so we use Jernigan Security. I also have a large dog & several guns so we feel very safe.

We feel safe because there are no negro's or mexicans in our town.

Not sure why its scary to u. Its like a village very low crime. Just be aware of your surroundings. No need to arm yourself with guns out the yingyoag. That's like ridiculous. A dog at the most is all u need. Mostly for company. Not crime. Silly.

go to dollar tree and buy up a pile of magnetic door alarms for $1 each.
stick one on all your doors and windows.
they will do everything the 'home security system' does for a fraction of the cost.
when one goes off you can call the cops yourself.

Good idea. And keep a couple of cans of wasp amd hornet spray to douse them until the police arrive. Its more potent than mace and far reaching. Likely never to use it though becauise the crime rate is very low here actually. Just overhyped.

Alarms are only good for a decieved peace of mind. If someone breaks in your home, it will take an officer anywhere from 10-20 minutes to get to your home at best. There are so many false alarms that go off everyday that cops get used to going to false calls only to get called off. If the power goes out or a power surge, get ready to get a call from your alarm company because they go off all the time. Plus animals, wind, accidental activations cause them to go off as well. They are really not worth the money. A dog is worth more than that alarm system you just purchased. Mine barks at the littlest noise. Even if your alarm does go off and summons the police, the robber and your stuff will be gone by the time the police get there anyhow. Good neighbors and dogs are the best security systems are are mostly free. Plus, there has been alot of break ins during the daytime when people are at work. Criminals are getting smarter and turning your power off and cutting phone lines as well.

If you get a security system make sure it is wireless and runs off a backup battery , make sure it comes with inside motion detection to, but if you have ghost in your house they can set off the motion detection.

very wise observation budman.
after moving to north Patrick street, we put motion detectors on all four corners of the house. every time a spook walked across the yard he or she set it off.

Do you know if there is a system like you described that doesn't require a phone dialer? I don't have a home phone, so would just like one that is loud and goes off when triggered.

I have Suddenlink Security with motion detection door and glass break sensors, it's wireless with battery backup, the only catch is if you move you can't take your equipment with you but have to purchase new

I can imagine how annoying that must be , sounds like a good metal fence with some spook proof razor wire may help, always keep a few spook busters handy in the house for those that try to cross the no spook zone

Suddenlink also offers an inside camera you can purchase to monitor from your cell phone or computer while away
