First of all, if you were Steve Watkins, you would leave too. Run is more like it. His x wife is not only extremely unattractive but I heard a real bull dog to deal with. For a social magazine the people they have working there are not only bull dogs to deal with but dog ugly. Sorry but you would think they would care more about image. Down hill steady.
I've dealt with the mag many times before & it has been nothing but positive. They have lots of newer employees that I know of too. They cover some great people and events in the community. What exactly is your issue with them???

I've been in three issues, actually. September 2010, February 2011, and December 2011. Why do you ask?

Not what issue you were in ---- lol ---- I was asking what your issue was with the Occasions people (hence the insults.)

You clearly haven't dealt with Occasions for quite some time. Get a life......

Who is the owner of this Occasion's Magazine? I was born and raised in Jonesboro and I don't think she is from here. She doesn't really fit the mold of a magazine because she is very unfriendly and it's unattractive.

Occasions needs to start topless photos of Jonesboro social events. I would enjoy looking at a variety of local women's tits and you could tell whose were real and whose were natural. Some of the old social matrons would probably have some pruney old mellons but the nubile twenty & thirty something gang should be interesting. When it comes to tits, money can only buy you so much so this would be a good chance for ladies to shine with what nature rather than a gold card gave them. The December issue could feature holiday areolas of northeast Arkansas. I think circulation and readership would improve 75% if they change to Topless Occasions!

Audrey is still the owner. She just divorced Steve and is now remarried with a different last thing. She is very unfriendly which makes her even more unattractive. She is nice at all!

You are so right and most people feel like you do. They have to afford to print the magazine and the only way they can do it is by taking pictures of the people who pay for the business. If not they would never survive.

I've met her. Very unfriendly person and her husband must be blessed to be out of that situation for sure.
Taken Idea

The facts are this Audrey took the idea from a girl by the name of Polly Marshall. Polly had her plan in place for a magazine and the Occasions woman acted as though she was going to work for her and had to steel all her ideas to use as her own. Really low down. Polly had a magazine called Celebrate Jonesboro and Occasions did whatever they could to try to run the Celebrate team out of business. They didn't succeed because Polly was in business a long time but wanted to move on with her life and family and she didn't have to work. I think her husband is an Arkansas Judge. The Occasion's woman had to though because she was a single mom when her husband Steve Watkins had enough and left her. The story is true and can be confirmed by many.

Yes indeed! Polly worked her butt off too! She had Parent Magazine, as well and Audrey tried to do Occasions for
Kids, too! Shame shame! The good ideas always get stolen!

You may need to revamp your thoughts on who started all of these magazines.

There was a sports themed magazine, same format as Occasions. Wish it would have made a go of it.

It's a fact. Heard it straight from the company and a guy that worked there who I go to church with. He has no reason to lie. You can also ask the Mayor of Jonesboro because he knows the scoop. Mrs. Marshall started it. Later down the road she and another employee would go around town spying to find out what this Celebrate Magazine was working on and try to beat them to the punch.

Very dishonest and overcharging people. I've done business with them and won't ever do it again. They overinflated my invoice and someone else I know. If you want names I could give you at least 15 that have had bad dealings with them. I also heard someone I know almost got in serious trouble and fined because their sales rep was using slogans already used by other companies. Just friendly advice to watch out

Audrey worked for Parens Publishing which started with Parents Magazine, she and Jeff Hankins started Occasions at basically the same time Celebrate was started. Neither magazine was an original idea, it was based off of similar magazines done in larger cities, fact.

My opinion of Occasions magazine: useless socialistic dribble, intended for the 'elite set', or so they think.

They cater to a market, it wouldn't be a good business plan to sell advertising to businesses and then market it to the mobile home trailer trash.
