does anyone have a lot of trouble with their wireless internet? ATleast every other weekend our wireless internet goes out and then you cannot call about it b/c they dont have weekend hours.

We've been bscn users for 9 years and have never had that kind of problem. Maybe your wireless box is in a bad location.

It used to be our family joke - if it's 6pm on Friday the internet will be going out at any minute. Not so much of a problem in the last year or so.

it just seems we only have problems on the weekend especially if its cloudy the least bit, but during the week nothing.
the wireless internet is satellite based isnt it?

I used to have this problem until I learned how to re-sent my adapter on my computer. Now when I reset my "wireless network adaptor" it fixes everything. They should have after hours tech help; b/c I have had these same issues too!!

we had them for a couple of years, issue after issue, we were out of service more than with service as was alot of people in our area..after a little research it was discovered that they took down their tower, the next nearest one was about 30 miles away...needless to say they lost alot of customers in our area

i know how to re-set the little adapter, they told us about that once when we called.
I dont like the fact that there are tracking cookies either. when we run virus scan it usually picks up tons of them.
It may be the tower causing some of our problems b/c we live over in missouri.

Not the actual adapter; there is something I do through my computer's control panel...it may do the same thing as unplugging the actual adapter; not sure though.

try resetting the adapter and then you can also try renewing your ip. its programmed to do it automatically through your provider but sometimes it doesnt and you can be without service until they catrch up to it. i just had them tell me how to do it myself through my own computer to avoid haveing to wait on them

We stopped using this company's service due to LACK of service. Could get no response to phone call messages or to email messages. Internet availability was sporadic. We moved our business.

i dont know how to reset ip through the control panel, but i can probably find out.
i wander if thats why my isp sometimes says trumann and then says jonesboro?

How much does it cost and what speeds? I recommend SBC DSL. I have had it for years and the service is rock solid. It may not be the fastest, but it is dependable and no outages. They recently changed policy where you can now have DSL and not be forced to have their phone service.

We have had alot of trouble with suddenlink! Bscn i have never used but I do know that it may be your router. I lose wireless connetion all the time so at this point I have my laptop connected straight to the modemn. I have been told that it is the router that i am using, i think it is called lyncsys (in not sure how to spell that) the best way to reset your's is to just shut your pc down and restart it. That is what a technical advisor told me to do and it worked and I haven't had any trouble since then. Also there are certain sites that you use that can cause this problem BEARSHARE is what caused my problems..This site requires dial-up, so ever time that I would log on it would start a dial-up process. Don't know if this helped any but I would try to shut down and restart.

I highly recommend Black Sheep Computing. Only a few problems over the past 4 years. NOTHING like the problems I had with the DSL I used to have. Also, a friend of mine has had lots of problems with Westweb wireless service, I recommended Black Sheep Wireless to him.

I have had heard several people complain about westweb wireless, could never get them to come and fix problems they were having, one in particular said it took them a month to come out. they cancelled and went with black sheep wireless, havent asked how the black sheep service is. have not heard them complaining anyway.

they where h4x3d by the Quebecois before they sold off to ritternet

ritternet didnt bother to setup on new machines, they just plugged in and left alone.

i had some cit classmates sniff the wireless network with back|trac and spoof the MAC address to get on the wireless
