The CEO use to support the nursing team with an open door policy. But now we can not longer go to her for issues that arise with management. She hired a chief nursing officer that is a complete idiot. He is disrespectful at best. He came back from training and promptly got on the walkie talkie and said "The warden is back." The CEO answered "Nice to hear your voice." Nurses dont like the image of working in a prison with their supervisor being the warden unless they do work in a prison. And sometimes at this hospital it feels like a prison. He is not nurse friendly and the CEO has been told this. But she does not want to admit she hired someone so UNPROFESSIONAL. He believes he is "Laid Back". GIVE ME A BREAK. He wants nurses' wrote up for minor infractions. He does not take in account that he just overloaded them with 11 to 1 nurse patient ratio. Also he is so stupid he thinks hiring only 12 hr shifts is the way to help with staffing. DUH rehab is the hardest nursing job out there and noone wants 12 hrs of it. How much more will the CEO/Administrator allow? He has run off more nurses that what he has hired.

If your not happy then leave; not doing anyone any favors by staying. During my 35 years as a nurse, I was more concerned about my patients and their families. Nursing is a hard profession, people like you just make the profession harder. You bring shame to nursing.

LAZY! The nurses and techs (not all) have got to be the laziest nurses/techs in Jonesboro. Rehab patients spend a lot of their time in various types of therapy and then they spend a lot of time sleeping so the nurses and techs do not spend a lot of time providing "nursing care". They spend a lot of time trying to push their work off on other employees or standing around talking to each other. You are constantly running down Healthsouth yet you want to get that paycheck every two weeks and the benefits that come with having a good job. Nursing is suppose to be about the patient and giving the patient the best care possible. If you were doing your jobs and having a good attitude, your jobs would not be nearly so difficult and the nursing supervisor would not be on your case constantlty. And the CEO could actually be proud of her nursing staff. By the way, the prisons are always looking for nurses. If you are not happy, then seek employment elsewhere... there is always someone willing to take your spot and enjoy that steady paycheck.
