My husband and I are looking to adopt a child. We are looking for expectant or new parents that would be interested in discussing allowing us to bring a child in to our home. Does anyone know of anyone looking for adoptant parents?

Good luck to you on adopting. We are at this same crossroads and we know several couples in our church who have adopted and it was wonderful for them. The only thing is they are older children and when I say older I mean 4 or 5. It is nearly impossible to adopt a baby unless you do like you are doing and find a baby on your own. We have two boys one is 23 and one is 17 so we are kind of starting over at 40. We both always wanted a daughter but the Lord didn't give us one until I met a women in Memphis who had this beautiful little baby girl. She told me they had just gotten back from China and had adopted her. She told me of the babies there that need a home. She said there was hundreds of them just thrown away pretty much, especially the girl babies. I looked this up and it is true there are so many of them. So this is the direction the Lord is sending us and we are excited. I would adopt from here if I could but they have made things so hard. I hope things go good for you in your search.

I am having a baby girl in a couple of months. And i was thinking about giving my little girl up. It will be so hard for me to take care of her. I do love my baby so much and i want her to have everything in the world that she wants and needs. Do you have a number where i could speak with you. I would very much like to talk with you about this.

go do some searching on craigslist.org people always put their kids up for sale on that site. Probably will get them pretty cheap also.

Would you intend on having a closed or open adoption

We would consider either for the right circumstances.

Guest, We looked for years here in the US and else where to adopt. China is a good thought. but it cost around 30 thousand.
I want to tell you I understand your feeling right now. As for the Amy chick, I think she was just messing with you.
We went with DCFS( foster care). I know you are thinking these are all troubled children.. not so.. Most of the time the parents just cant take care of them.
We have adopted 3 times in the past 7 years and they were ALL new born's when we got them. I have friends (many friends) that have done the same. I also have friends that have adopted older children.
The cost of adoption from DCFS (if your a foster parent) is around $20.. yes, I said $20.I wish you much luck in finding you forever child!

We contacted DHS but it may take a while. Many children are not fortunate enough to have a good family life. If there are parents out there that are thinking of aborting, that can't care for or protect their children, please email me so we can't talk.

DHS is a great option, we have adopted two children and both were fairly young, from the time we started the process it took about 10 months before the first child was placed with us. A word of caution when trying to adopt with out using an agency, we also had two different women who lead us to believe we would be adopting their babies and one right before birth changed her mind and one right after changed her mind. They were women that famlily or friends knew and not through an agency. Our hearts were broke, but now we have beautiful children and we will be forever grateful to DHS
I know you said it may take awhile, adoption is not an easy process, but worth it.

The class takes 6 weeks. Most parents start gettig children befor the class is over. 6 weeks verses a 6 to nine month wait IF you find a mom wanting to let you adopt... 6 weeks is not that long. I wish you luck.

The foster/adopt class is 9 weeks, and they do not place children in the homes until the classes, back ground checks, home study and all the paper work is complete. If you foster, you will get children in your home right away(not usually adoptable), but adopt only homes usually have to wait a while unless you are interested in adopting a large sibling group, our severely disabled child.
