They laid off 70 full time employees instead of laying off the part time or new hire employees and cut production from 6 days to 4.
Were most maintenance and management? There seemed to be to many anyway for a 4 day schedule, and they cost the most in pay and benefits. When they opened, didn't they only work a 4 day a week shift?
Not so sure

Not hardly Rose leave Obama out of it! It is sorry management lazy bosses and a sad human resource dept. that probably if they have a degree got it online.

At least for now...
But prayers go out to those families who are affected by the loss of their income and healthcare. 70 families. That's no small loss.
President Obama and 545 of his friends are to blame for this mess. This is the trickle-down effect of their idiocy.

Your hatred of GOD and the bible make YOU the idiot, christian devil !
Your moniker is URaChildKiller. That would seem you are against abortion. That puts you in a group with a lot of Christions. Your rant made you seem like a psycho, so I am going to take you as such. I know what I am and am not. You, on the other hand, seem extremely confused. I will not response to you again.

<quoted text>I do it by never being dumb and believing the anti-Truth, anti-Reality nonsense most users post on Topix. Topix is like a big christian church. They THINK their words change reality. But their words NEVER do. All sane people CAN do is learn the facts and quit whining because your OPINION is not fact or Truth.
Go put some more band aids on your forehead where you keep missing your mouth with your fork !
I just read almost the exact post on another thread under another name. Decided to use more than 2 names now? What you told my son that your comments were all in good fun must have been a lie. Because this one is not just irritating. You are making fun of people's religious beliefs. I do not think a persons word changes anything. I am a Christian. Without my faith I do not know how I would have made it through my 10 year old son's death. I was very angry at God for quite a while, but through prayer and the Bible, I made it through to the other side. I know of many parent's of St. Jude's children that died. Many have killed themselves. A persons religious beliefs is not in good fun or just trying to irritate as you told my son. It is repulsive. Next time leave a persons religious beliefs out of it. Ok? You really did get on my son's good side. You won't stay there like this.

<quoted text>Your christian faith is irrelevant to the bible and GOD. There are no christian teachings in the bible and christianity isn't even mentioned. That's what I'm laughing at ! If you don't work miracles, you've never believed GOD even once. And if you had ever done that, you would have laid hands on your children and cured them. But your empty worship of your "god" christianity, has never saved you or your children once. On the contrary, most are dead and you still reject the solutions for GOD to save them. There is no one more evil and lost in pure darkness than you are. That's hilarious, fool !
The stretch in language from Aramaic to Engish is nearly impossible. So as modern converts to Christ as He Himself spoke of, we call ourselves Christians.

70 people out of 600 are temporarily laid off, that's all. This is due to a restructuring of products made at the Jonesboro plant. For instance the Nestle plant is no longer going to make the family size lasagna, but is adding two new products, these new products take less workers to produce than lasagna which is a very labor intensive product. That is all.

I think we should ban and outlaw all the rice farmers and farmers - there the ones who use all the damn water! haha Also people should not be allowed to drink water and should only be allowed to drink soda and beer that would save alot of water too. hahaha

Starting on 2/1/13 in the MT. Sterling plant we will no longer be allowed to wear a plain gold wedding band. They tell us it goes for all nestle plants. Just wondering if this is true.

Yes it is true! Part of Obam@'s plan to take down the sacred institution of marriage and promote infidelity and the homosexual life style. Also doing away with separate male and female restrooms.

I'm sure they culled the over 65 crowd that you had to wake up to tell them the line was back running. Half of them had an excuse to miss every other day anyway.

Laying workers off for several reasons. Among them are the health conscious consumers are eating fewer candy bars plus Hershey's has been waging an all out price war on chocolate milk reducing profitabilty on Quik.

I understand having 3 days off, is a good thing, but what about the decrease in hours worked? Can your lifestyle withstand that kind of hit? I know mine couldn't.

How odd. It's always been my experience that older workers are far more dependable than the younger ones. The younger generation often acts like they're doing you a personal favor just by showing up for their shift.

James, you seem happy about this news. Weekends off lead to weekdays off. Before you know it, you'll be standing in the unemployment line. GE, Dana, World Color (Quad Graphics), Spirit...all started like this. Where are they now? Gone. This IS something for you to be concerned with. They reroute their money making products to their "low cost operating" plants..then they close what they feel are "draining plants". Upgrades are tax write offs. They improve to make the appearance "they tried" to make it work. They invest hundreds of thousands just to get a kick back at years end. It's common business practice. You'll probably see the CEO & VPs getting a hefty bonus next. Don't be abtuse to think this is a little hiccup. This is just the onset of more job loss to come. Plus these temp places are in bed with most of these plants... scab wages with no benefits. You do the math dear. Sad to see yet another good plant crumble over corporate greed.
