Back a few months ago when all the college coaches were playing musical chairs, he was mentioned as the future coach of about 10 different teams. Thought maybe he was waiting to the Pope job to open up, which it has. Go John !!

I can't help but marvel that millions of faithful Catholics, who are wonderful people, think that a group of caniving, backstabbing, Bishops are going to select the next Official Interpreter of God's word through a highly political and bitter voting process. Then, whoever had the most political clout, get's the funny hat & big ring and becomes God's go to guy on earthly matters. I'm sorry but that is just so hilarious to me. I'm a Christian but discount a majority of man made religious doctrine also known as fairy tales.

P.S.
I thought liberal and Baptist were mutually exclusive! lol

Don't know if we can elect Gruden, he may be too short. Don't want him falling out of the Pope-mobile !

According to the prophecies of the likes of St. Malachy and Nostradamus the next pope will be the last pope and his name will be Peter in some form.

There is a whole faction of openly homosexual priests now, too, and they are going to be pushing for one of their own. Kind of fitting it would be a "Peter" don't you think.

As for why people stay Catholics even after all the scandals and proof of abuses, etc., it's the same way the Muslims don't leave Islam; they're born into it and brainwashed all their lives. Same with every cult.

How about Manti Te'o? He's from a Catholic school and has no problem with believing in imaginary people.

I have some Catholic friends who are kind of like the rest of us who believe what they believe to be true and just regard the Pope as the revered leader of the Catholic faith. They practice birth control and some are pro-choice. I have a Southern Baptist friend who tells me he goes to his S. Baptist Church because that's where his grandparents, parents, and other family go but he pretty much decides for himself what he beleives. As far as gay priest, it is important that you note that there is a day/night difference between a homosexual and a child molester. A child molester is a predator with specific sexual predatory behavior for children of various ages. The majority of sexual molestations are hetero. Being gay has nothing to do with being a child molester. Catholics would be so much better off if they would just let their clergy marry and lead a normal life in addition to their clerical responsibilities. I think the high rate of alcoholism and alcohol abuse is attributable to this celibacy issue. All those old Bishops look alike to me but if they would get a black Pope they might get some better music than some of those awful hymns.

Hey, I totally agree with you, especially on the issue of alcoholism being tied to celibacy. Last time I was celibate for awhile I was driven to drink.
