Hey just wondering who uses this propane company and how much they charge per gallon. I received my bil the other day and heard from someone with a different company...the difference was approximately 300 for the same amount of gas. Please let me know if you're with this company and if you've got propane lately so I can see if there's a scam happening.

Thanks

I use Ferrell Gas. I was so mad because I ordered gas 2 weeks ago and it was $2.15 per gallon and I think I ordered 250 gallons, so the bill was $500 and something, and about a month ago I called all over town checking prices and it was $1.98! I knew I should have ordered then before the demand went up! Hope this helps

I don't know much about propane, but I know I was just behind a Ferrell gas truck in Jonesboro that had three unrestrained propane tanks rolling all around in the back of the truck. Isn't that stuff explosive and supposed to be secured? Even if the tanks are empty, shouldn't they still be secured? Correct me if I'm wrong

We cancelled with Ferrell and went with Declerk out of Pocahontas.
I always ask how much the gas is a gallon before I order. It was 1.99 a gallon 2 weeks ago. It had gone down quite a bit from last year.
Ferrell is too high priced.

As someone who knows, trust me. Don't use Ferrellgas. Craft Propane is right there in Jonesboro, and they don't charge nearly as much for the exact same services. If you own your own tank, Anderson's is your best bet.

I had the same experience once. I was actually on automatic refill when I ran out, called on Wed. and by Fri. still had no propane. When I called they told me it would be Mon. I was so aggrevated, I told them to forget delivery of the gas and just pick up their tank they had to send me a refund for the money they owed me. Go figure

I used Ferrell gas last year. It was the first time i had ever had to use gas. They came out and inspected my tank and heaters and said everything was fine and filled up my tank which was almost $600 he started to leave but i stopped him and told him i smelled gas so he rechecked them and still says everythings fine. 1 weeks later i was down to 20% come to find out there was a leak in the tank and they would not replace the gas that was lost even though i tried to tell the man that inspected it that i could smell it leaking out, he said that was normal, aparently not. To this day i still have 20% in that tank and will not use it. I have used an electric heater since. $600 wasted

They will do whatever it takes to make as much money from you as they can. I use to work there, and if they can charge $3.50 a gallon they will, if they can only get $2.50 a gallon they will. If you don't mind having to call up all of the other propane companies every time you need gas, and negotiating down the price every time you need gas, you can use them, but even then they will still charge you 10 cents more a gallon. Best bet is to go with a reputable company that charges the same for all their customers, based on the price of gas they pay.

Ferrell Freeze-Out
For three years I have lived in my deceased grandparents’ home. My grandparents were with Ferrell Gas for years, therefore I stayed with the same company. With the chill of winter in the air I decided to order more propane, especially with receiving a coupon in the mail advertising $20 off my next fill. I called and placed my order of 200 gallons, gave them the promotion code on the coupon card and that was that. On December 13th Ferrell came by to deliver the propane. When I looked at the bill of sale I was floored because my bill was $720.08. I mentioned this to a neighbor and they presented me with their bill of sale from Craft Propane. They had placed an order for 200 gallons with Craft and their bill was $449.98. I realized I had been scammed. How can Ferrell charge $3.319 per gallon in relation to a competitor charging only $2.099? I decided to call Ferrell and discuss this issue with them.
I called on December 29th and told Ferrell I had some discrepancies with my bill and needed to discuss them. They asked for my account number and name, I told them my name, which does not match with the initial account holder. They told me since my name was not on the account that they could not discuss any bill matters with me. I said,“okay since you can’t talk to me about the bill that means I don’t have to pay it, right?” They transferred my call immediately. I explained to the woman that my grandparents were deceased, and it was funny to me how Ferrell has never had any problems accepting my payments for the past three years, even though it is my name on the check and not the account holder’s. I told them I could have very easily lied and said my name was that on the account, but I chose to tell the truth. They said,“your name isn’t on the account so we can’t discuss the price.” I asked her why the price was so much higher than other competitors, and she could not tell me. She told me I was told the price of propane when I called to order, I explained that if it had been told to me I would have said,“No, thank you!“ She explained that since I used the coupon card I received in the mail that nothing could be done about negotiating the price. She then tried to get me to set up a new account to receive a reduced rate, and I refused telling her,“I will not be doing business with your company again, I will pay the bill and then seek out another company.”
When I received the coupon card in the mail I thought I would be getting a deal; It’s a shame that what Ferrell really did was give the $20 off as advertised, yet jacked up the price of the propane. Can we say,“price gouging?” What is even worse to me is that our elderly community are getting the wrong end of the deal from this as well. This company is thinking I am an 88 year old woman, and they are overcharging her. When my grandmother was alive she was on a fixed income, as are the majority of elderly people. How can they afford such a steep bill in comparison to a bill that is $300 less from a neighboring company for the same exact thing? While I am blessed with a stable job and can pay the $700 bill, I would much rather have the $300 difference in the bank. It is not the best feeling to know 300 extra dollars is going to someone for something intangible, but yet it keeps me warm in the winter and pipes not busting.
I did not write this to try to get out of a bill or to gripe. I wrote it in hopes that this company will lose business. They are not running it in order to serve customers, instead to rip them off. I have heard very negative feedback about this company since my problem with them has came about. I have even researched the lawsuits on them for changing customer contracts unbeknownst to the customer. I encourage all propane users to seek business with a company other than Ferrell Gas because they surely do not hold the customer’s best interest at heart.

My Dad uses Craft propane as well. He's also on a fixed income. I can honestly say they're GREAT to him, and help him pay his bill out if he ever needs too.

That's usually the way all the propane companies are. If you want to pay it out, then you can.
It's kinda hard to come up with $400.00 or more everytime you buy propane.
Ferrell would not come and get their tank out of my yard, so I told them I would sit it in the front yard and put a for sale sign on it.
They came and got it.

We ordered Ferrellgas over a week ago because our tank was getting low. They didn't come and didn't come, so we finally ran out of gas last night and had to call them again. They came out and filled the tank and charged us same day delivery. Then they shut off the gas when they were done filling and left a note on the door. We were home and they didn't even knock on the door. It was -10 degrees last night where we live. How irresponsible!!! I will never do business with them again.

[I received my bill from Ferrelgas and they charged me over $3 a gallon when the competitors were charging a dollar less. I'm even on the "keep full" program in which you must have good credit with them to be on. I called and raised cane about it and they corrected my bill. You should do the same. I was very upset by this because I have never questioned my bill with them. Believe me I will every bill in the future. I loved them when they were Thermogas but think Ferrelgas is a bunk of crooks!!!!]

I had a similiar experience with Ferrellgas where they sicked a lawyer on me and tried to collect the gas money. I wrote the lawyer a letter and told him I had no intention of paying the bill because of their shitty service. I also sent him an invoice, as well as Ferrellgas, for storage of their tank on my property for 22 months. They came got their tank and I haven't heard another word from anybody.
