This isn't directed at "happy scared day" just to the people trying to change the date of Halloween:

Halloween is on the 31st of October. This year it happens to be on a Sunday, so if you go out on Saturday night you are one day too early. Don't like that it's on a Sunday? Too bad, we don't change things just to suit your schedule. We don't encourage people going door to door begging for candy on August 16th or March 12th or any other day, so it's not okay for you to personally take it upon yourself to declare October 30th as Halloween.

I don't see why Halloween can't be celebrated on a Sunday. These so-called Christians who're offended by the idea need to realize God probably doesn't mind Halloween at all.

So who exactly told you this? I'd like to know who has the authority to move Halloween to Saturday.

I'm sure if people said to hell with it and celebrated on Sunday, there's really nothing the city could do to enforce their stupid Saturday "law".

why don't all you people take that candy, and your kids, and go to some of the homeless shelters and orphanages around here, and really treat those folks?
i'm sure it'll be alright to dress up in those silly costumes and act the fool.
of course, this won't happen,as halloween means a lot more to you folks that are trying to make an immpession, right?
They can come to my house on Halloween. Even an orphan is allowed to trick-or-treat (and it would be fun for them to get out). You don't need much in the way of a costume...or any at all if you just don't have an imagination. I know that when I was a kid, I used to dress like a hobo sometimes, because it didn't cost a penny for my parents. And I treat people of all ages...I've never turned anyone away from my door (unless I've run out of treats~ and so far, I don't think that has never happened LOL).

Halloween is about fun. Period. That is the only real reason to celebrate this holiday. If I chose to decorate my yard (and I do), it's to thrill the kids (or whom ever) and give them a pleasant memory for years to come. And those kids do come back, year after year. Some of those children now have babies of their own, and they bring them to show me thier costumes and to tell me how they always liked coming to my house for treats on Halloween. If it "impresses" them, so be it. I chose to think it just puts a smile on thier face and helps give them that "Allhallows Eve" feeling that comes around once a year. Hopefully, it makes those late night monster movies and candy all the more nostalgic at the end of the night of trick-or-treating.

But yes, I know...as long as there is poverty and disappointment in the world, no one should be allowed to splurge a little or have fun. It's best to be cynical, bitter and degrade anyone who does otherwise.

Bob, Bob, Bob...
So you bring God and Christianity into Halloween. Sounds like you don't know him very well. He would hand out candy any day of the week. He doesn't need a certain date. So join the rest of us, and hand out candy to kids Saturday and Sunday. After all, isn't that why we do this? It's all for the kids.

Ok first of all I have got to agree with those who do NOT want to move the holiday. I am a wiccan, All Hallows Eve is my new year, this is our celebration and a holiday in our religion. Yes Wicca is now a national recognized religion whether you believe it or not. We dont move Christmas because it covers up our Yule holiday, so why move our holiday because it lands on your sabath. You are NOT the only religion recognized in the USA. There is room for all of us, so I say leave my New years celebration on the day it is supposed to be on and I will leave your christmas where it is supposed to be.

I think some people will be going on Saturday and some on Sunday and some may go both! We are going Sunday night because that is the day it falls on. There is no reason to argue over this little issue, just get out of the way and let the children have some fun!

Jonesboro news says it will be on Sunday, that's when I will give out candy. I can't afford t give it out both days.
