Gonna be visiting Jonesboro for a couple days, can anyone tell me what are the best resturants? Do they have a Red Lobster there? Or possibly one for good prime rib or steak? Also, is there anything entertaining for a child around 6 to do? Thanks.

yes, there are plenty of overrated, overpriced restaurants in jonesboro, including red lobster.
if you want to entertain a 6 year old, go to burger king. the food is better and you don't need to leave a forty dollar tip.

Yes we have a red lobster and many steak places in town too, like long horn, outback and Colton's but if you want something that's not in every town you should try Omar's downtown for a good steak. And I don't know what all you might be referring to for a 6 year old to do but we do have chucky cheese.

I'm sorry I wasn't clear on the entertaining a child...I didn't mean while we were eating. I meant was there any fun things to take a child to, after we are done eating, like museums or some kind of child activity.

We have several places on Main St that are Jonesboro only. An electric choice and some very good food. All but Skinny J's and Brick house are kid friendly. Both of those places serve kids just a bit crowded and rowdy for kids.

I went on the net and looked at Omar's, the food looks WONDERFUL! Thanks for that suggestion! We may give that a try! Their lobster tails are so reasonable!

ASU has museum inside their library. Other activities for a six year old would be put put golf, bowling, and the nature center

Go to www.urbanspoon.com then find Jonesboro, AR and there will be a listing of most of the eating establishments in JB along with what others have to say about the establishment.

Omara's gets good reviews.

Chedders gets very bad reviews on both food and service but yet the parking lot seems to stay full at meal time.

Ron's catfish on Dan Ave on the north west side of Jonesboro is a great buffet with some of the best fried chicken in the country along with good catfish.

Lazzari's is a private owned Italian restaurant and is awesome. Much better than Olive Garden.

DO NOT GO TO CRUNKY CHEESE!! That place like a lot of other Jonesboro places has gone way down hill since they opened. It's a real ghetto in there. What is it about Jonesboro that makes place go to shit after it's been open for a year. Ryan's, Chucky Cheese, O'Charley's, etc. I just don't get it.

add Olive Garden to that list. It blows. There is no decent italian food in Jonesboro. Service at OG is horrible, and food at lazzaris is cheap disgusting crap. I don't understand how the food at a national chain like Olive Garden can be so bad, it all comes in the same plastic bags coast to coast, but I ate there the other night and the alfredo sauce looked and tasted like scorched biscuit gravy. It was such a wonderful complement to the shrimp and microscopic scallops in the dish. And EVERYTHING is so OVERPRICED. Its freaking PASTA!! Are they making ethanol from wheat now or what??
