Hello everyone!
I am expecting my first child and I wanted to get a head start on looking for the BEST pediatrician in Jonesboro! There is an old topix forum on the subject but I wanted some recent opinions! Also I am still doing alot of research on vaccines so if you know of a vaccine friendly doctor, a dr well educated on the subject, or just one that is kind enough to not push the subject if I am selective please let me know. Thank you.

childrens clinic is in my opinion the best office to use, they have a 24 hour call service and they are open sunday through saturday which as we all know is a huge plus with young children, however i would have to say that all the doctors in this office are good but my personal favorites would have to be dr. sneed and dr. matthews.

I use Children's Clinic as well. great staff. Dr. Rouse is my favorite. I don't care for Dr. Johnson though.

I've never had any trouble with vaccines or the time table there.

Pediatric associates. They are great. I would recommend hornbeck. Only thing about the childrens clinic is u may say different doctors at different appts. And from what I hear the wait time is looooong. As far as vaccines, why would any of them want to accomidate u for being "selective"? They are recommended for a reason. Don't rely on everyone else to vaccinate their kids so that you don't have to. As far as the autism fiasco, research Dr wakefields bogus MMR study. It was actually just published in the wall st journal.

Dr Treece is the best peds doc in jonesboro. Just ask other MD's. He came highly recommended and has been awesome for our two children. He would be my first choice. If you cant get an appt with him I will give you my second choice.

I wouldnt take a dog to Hornbeck. My child had 103 fever for 3 days and an ear infection. He kept saying it was a virus and would have to run its course.

Gonna have to call BS on this one. They make me bring our kid in anytime they're running fever and they take it very seriously. Plus hornbeck likes to reallystay on top of ear infections. I have stories like that about some of the drs at childrens clinic but that doesn't make them an all around bad dr.

the childrens clinic has been really good. my 2 children have very low immune systems and they are always understanding. my son's doctor is matthews and he loves him! dr. sneed is my daughters doctor and she plays with her to get her to do things so she can be checked(she is very timid with people). they are also very good with first time mothers with questions. i have never been rushed! i also chose to start vaccines later and they had NO problem with that.

Pediatric Associates is great. We see Dr. Hornbeck and Amy Duch, APN. She has been the best with us and when it comes down to it she was not a bit hesitant to refer me to childrens hospital when we need it while other Dr's in town just kept giving us the run around while my child was aspirating.

I don't believe you. Dr Hornbeck is the BEST dr in NE Arkansas. He is caring and listens to you. Your child could have had a virus and developed an ear infection in that amount of time. He has never misdiagnosed any of my 3 children and the oldest is 9.

I agree 100% I wish Amy was a Dr she is awesome. I see them in That order Dr H then Amy, Dr Ashodian only if I have to and I would go to the ER before seeing Dr R.lol Dr Hornbeck is the most competant Dr around. He takes everything very seriously. This just be one of the moms that things she knows better than a dr. One of those I'm not leaving unless you give meds even if it's not necessary.

thanks so much for your input...so do you prefer dr sneed or matthews more? or is it one of those clinics you see a diff dr every time you go in? did they seem educated on vaccines and helpful?

Can't you go like interview/meet with peds before you actually chose which one you want to take your newborn to? What would your second choice be? I'm really leaning towards Dr. Treece but if he is as awesome as I have heard I might not be able to get in with him even though I have a few months left before birth.

Dr. Jane Sneed is one of the best people you will ever meet. She is fantastic. She has always cared for my children. I would never take a child anywhere else.

If we didnt have Dr. Treece then we would probably go with Dr. Rouse. The reason why I like Dr. Treece, besides the fact my wife works with him, is the fact he is a Med-Peds (Internal Medicine and Pediatrics) physician which brings a unique insight and scope to the care of patients throughout their life span all the way from birth until geriatric age. A General Pediatrician will typically only see a patient until the age of 21. Med-Peds allows the caring for multiple generations of the same family and lends the physician better comprehension of family dynamics, disease state, and the impact of acute or chronic illness at all ages. I really hope you can get him as your doctor. My wife and I just saw him last week (my baby boys circumcision, ouch) and he saw us on his lunch break. I know he is busy but Im not sure if he is taking new patients or not. Best of luck and let me know if you have any other questions.
