I'm wanting to find out what each make in the Jonesboro area. I'm trying to make a career change and what to know what the pay is for each one.

LPN in an office setting 12ish/hour... The pay usually goes up in the hospital setting and then a little higher in a nursing home.
CNA I believe at the nursing home I used to work in was around min wage maybe a little higher. I forget the exact range.
RN of course makes more than LPN but are mostly utilized in hospitals. I'm not sure of the exact pay rate. I wanna say a coworker of mine (office setting) makes around 17/hour.

The 18/hr is new grad pay. Which is why they try to get rid of you once you are making a little money and hire a new grad in your place.

CNA's make minimum wage for having their hands in poop and pee and vomit and smelling it and cleaning it up all day, while the RN's and LPN's sit on their butt telling the CNA's to HURRY UP! and take care of their 25 patients, and the LPN and RN says, "It's not my job" and won't help you AT ALL! The CNA has to take their patients to the toilet, feed them, brush their teeth, change their diaper, wipe their butt, all while the RN or LPN is yelling at them to HURRY UP ANSWER THOSE CALL LIGHTS, and the RN and LPN says, "NO I can't help you, I"M AN RN! IT"S NOT MY JOB DO YOU UNDERSTAND? Now go answer those 25 call lights and leave me alone to sit on my butt and text my boyfriend on my phone all night ok? That is the wonderful world of working as a CNA. Working at McDonalds is about 5000 times better than being a cna.

if you get in a nursing home and are a c.n.a you can forget getting any help from the lpn's or rn's they would rather die than help an aide.and the pay is lousy too.

Not all RNs are lazy. Here's the thing, yeah CNAs do have to work hard and do the crappy work most of the time but the RN is responsible for everything especially the crap that you don't do or don't do right. Some old school RNs think they are above the patient care part of it but the ones who had to work as a CNA first don't mind getting in there and helping. BUT don't act like if a RN volunteers to help you, you won't be criticizing her up and down or talking about her bc she didn't do it the way you do. And a lot of CNAs are lazy too. The whole nursing profession works hard and is totally underpaid. If you are a CNA or anything and hate your job/pay...find something else you wanna do..it's that simple.

Cna's make $7.50 per hour

Lpn's make $15 or so per hour - but alot of hospitals are doing away with lpns and shifting their duties to cna's to save money. They would rather just hire cna's and rn's and the lpn job is going away quickly.

Rn's make $30 + per hours.

Where around here pays RN's 30.00+? It sure isn't NEA or ST Bernard's. they pay around 22.00 starting.

I know very few RNs who make 30... Maybe if they are PRN, working nights and getting some bonus pay or if they have been a nurse a while... You are even lucky if you start at 22 around here.

And if you are a cna you get to make 7.50 per hour and do all the work while the RN's sit on their butts at the nurses station gossiping and texting their boyfriend all during their shift and telling jokes about the cna and ask you WHY can't you take care off all 35 (yes 35 no joke)of your patients by yourself and yell at you to hurry up! Answer those call lights! Then all 5 or 6 RNs go back to laughing and joking at the nurses station while you are asking yourself: Why am I doing this cna job?? For what to be humiliated and made fun of?

Not all RNs are like that....some feel entitled and some aren't afraid to help because they know what it's like to do CNA work. Don't put down all...just like a lot of CNAs are worthless and don't take care of patients but I'd be wrong if I said all..

I got 26$ at NEA on nights and it was PRN with no benefits. Weekend option and nights pay more. I was getting $21 at the nursing home as an LPN but, trust me you earn every penny!
