I recently purchased a chihuahua puppy from the owner of the Puppy Patch located on the South end of Bono. I was assured it was a good puppy. After taking the dog home the poor little dog went into shock from being out of its cage. After finding out this poor little dog had been inside of this cage all its whole nine months of life ,the dog is ruined. After taking it home it quickly hid behind furniture and would not come out. It layed in the same spot for two days before I had to coax it to come out and got bitten in the process. I tried everything to calm this little dog down trying my best to get it to eat. I ended up keeping this puppy for one week and during the whole time it would not eat or drink anything. I was told after two days of ownership that it would take the dog two to three days to calm down and it would start eating and being more friendly. Well this did not happen. I had no choice but to return the dog to the Puppy Patch because the dog was beginning to get sick from not eating. I was told that I was not feeding the dog the right food so the owners employee quickly grabbed the most expensive food available and tried to feed it right in front of me and the dog still would not eat. I handed this dog back to the owner and told her I did not want this dog to die in my hands and had no choice. I handed the dog back to the owner. The hateful owner quickly informed me that they did not give refunds. Also her husband began cussing me for asking for a refund. I only gave seventy five dollars for this dog and its no huge loss but this is very poor business practices and this is the kind of people that we do not need in Bono giving us a bad name. My advice to anyone looking to purchase a puppy is to completely avoid this place. Those poor little dogs have been caged in small cages all their lives and will never work as a normal companion or pet. They are scared to come outside of their cages and the worse part is that you will never be able to house train these dogs. They are used to going to the potty whenever they need to just urinating and deficating on the dogs below and have learned this is ok. You will never be able to house train these dogs. There is no telling how many times this piticular dog has been sold to people only for the purchaser to return the dog later. In my opinion these people are Crooks and need to be put out of business. This nothing more than a puppy mill in disguise. Avoid at all cost or you will end up regretting your purchase. One other thing if you purchase a pet here the sale is final no matter what and they could care less if your dog dies the very next day. AVOID! AVOID! AVOID !

I purchased a dog here a few yrs back. We got him home and the lil fella started having seizures. I rushed him to the vet, where they kept him. He was in bad health. I called the store. They said nothing I could do. So I cancelled my check, told them where the dog was and informed them to call my lawyer for anything they may need. 475 was what they were about to get for a dog that lived less than24 hours after purchased. Horrible business!

I purchase a cream colored poodle puppy from them 3 years ago. Poor little thing was so upset with in 2 hours it was hiding behind my chair having seizures and throwing up. I went to pick the little guy up and he stoped breathing in my hands. My kids were screaming and crying for me to help it!I call the Owen and told her I was bringing the puppy back and that he was dying and I wanted my money back. When I got there she was not the nice lady I had purchased the puppy from! She was mean and short tempered with my daughter, telling me I had not feed the puppy the right food and I had made it sick! Them told me she would take the pup back would would not give me my money back! After I told her that was fine, I had had my proof that I had just purchased the pup and I had no problem calling Kait and the Jonesboro Sun and have the police there when kait show up. She throw my 295 across the room and told me to leave and NEVER come back...lol
SHe wasted her breath telling me that.. I have no plans in going back and I cant see why they are still in business.
solution for ya all

These post are so funny!! You people must not have a life to sit around and make up such lies!!! Some of you must have the wrong store in mind. I know the owner and they take really good care of their animals.

I work with BoxAR and I recently started fostering a boxer (Taxie) from Jonesboro Animal Control. If anyone is looking for a great, house trained dog that loves kids and is great on a leash please send me a message or visit www.boxarrescue.rescuegroups.org . There's a LOT of dogs out there that need homes, TO INCLUDE the breed you're looking for! I just wanted to offer this information since it seems everyone in this forum enjoys the companionship of dogs.:)

Please adopt pets. The more we BUY our pets, the more incentive people, like the ones you described, have to breed more & more puppies. BUYing our pets is feeding bad practices like this.

You are so ignorant, I have been in there many times to see the animals but all of them are to scared to even play with anyone like they are beaten or something, and they do defecate all over each other that's why they had signs saying please don't touch them because we might get sick.

It is true, everything written about the Puppy Patch. I too purchased a dog there and within 24 hrs. it was hospitalized. Almost 2 weeks later and over a thousand dollard vet bill, he came home but still needed much care to be well completely. I fell in love with the dog so kept him. All duing this time I tried to get some kind of restitution from them, like many have stated, the lady went into a fit of rage about NO REFUNDS, and such. I wish I had done more now, but I ended up with nothing but a little dog, and an extra payment each month as the vet was kind enough to allow me to pay it out. Most pet stores are nothing but puppy mills, and I went against my better judgement in purchasing him. I always like to get from the breeder and see both parents on site. If they are on the up and up they have no problem with your questions and such. Most have a rule about if the puppy gets sick within a certain time, they will take the puppy back. Puppy patch is like a concentration camp for puppies. I suggest folks use the humane society or the pound if possible as these dogs need love too. I have 2 from there and they are wonderful. PUPPY PATCH NEEDS TO BE REPORTED.

does it say no refunds on the receipt or is there a sign in the store about no refunds? If not then there is a case to get a refund, just go to small claims court.

I understand the desire to have a full blooded dog, but when there are literally millions of dogs and cats in shelters facing death if nobody takes them, I just wish more people would consider that type of dog. Those dogs are so grateful for you rescuing them, I swear you can see it in their eyes. When considering buying from one of these pet shops or puppy mills, please at least go and LOOK at the dogs at the pound or shelter. There are so many perfectly healthy dogs willing to give someone so much love, but most will sadly be put down because there just aren't enough homes for them. I used to think I HAD to have this certain breed of dog, but that was several pets ago. For years now I have only adopted shelter pets and always will. Don't give these puppy mills more incentive to breed animals for money without regard to their health or safety. Just at least think about it.

Don't return the puppy because it's ill. It'll only get worse or put down if you take it back. Getting a pet is like having a baby. No guarantees but it should still be a lifetime commitment! If you can't afford health care for your pet, don't get one!

normally you are right but if you spend hundreds of dollars for a puppy that is sick you should be able to get a refund. It is no fun to purchase a dog then within a couple of days finding out it needs thousands of dollars of medical care. Very few people can afford that.

One way to put a stop to puppy mills is having their retailers refunding customers money all the time. If the retailers are constantly having to refund, they will go to another source that has healthy puppies.

I think there should be a law requiring a 30 day refund period for all who sell pets.

There should be a law that anyone willing to pay $300 for a dog (or cat) should be sterilized to prevent further degradation of the human gene pool.
