You lose weight, but you really do gain it and more back afterwards. I guess then you could go back to Cordova Med Clinic, but if your prone to depression, once you get off the meds you have a high chance of slipping into a depression bc of the way the chemicals react in your brain. It triggers the "fight or flight" self preservation mechanism in the brain. You have increased energy and no desire to eat whatsoever. For some reason, though, once your off of the meds its difficult for some ppl's chemicals to return back to normal. You dont keep the fight or flight reaction, you just have a chemical imbalance that often requires antidepressant treatments.

You can do phentermine to lose weight or you can diet and fit in hour long cardio exercises 6 days a week to lose weight. Its a difficult decision, lol.

I have been taking phentermine to lose weight .. it hasn't "fallen off" by any means .. I have lost about a lb and a half a week (doc says that's good .. because my chances of gaining it back are less)..
on the website .. it tells ppl to take advantage of the energy and get urself into some sorta exercise habit (which I haven't done, unless going up and down the stairs while cleaning the house counts).. was I hoping for a "quick fix" sure .. but if I can lose it and start healthy habits in the meantime, imma keep taking it and hope for the best after I'm done .. I have a docs appointment today .. Imma see if she will add b12 .. I hadn't even thought about that ..
to whomever is thinking of trying it .. goodluck!

I've not researched the drug, but from what you're saying, it sounds like another kind of amphetamine. Adrenaline is the "fight or flight" chemical. I'd be worried about damage to the heart and liver from such a drug. Are there any nasty side effects that could result in a DUI, such as "impaired judgement" or something similar? "Fight or flight" state all the time could be dangerous on the highway as it could cause people to overreact.

Adrenaline makes us really strong, fast, and stupid for short periods of time. When I say stupid, I mean that we prioritize immediate survival above everything else, and by immediate, I mean for the next two or three seconds. Glands on our kidneys make the stuff, so it's not some kind of controlled substance. Even so, chemicals that stimulate the body's production of adrenaline, a.k.a. amphetamines, are strictly regulated and for good reason. Crystal Methamphetamine might make a great diet plan, but the side effects are worse than the side effects of being overweight.

If you're going to use this drug, be aware that drug companies are finding it more profitable to pay class action settlements than to perform adequate testing. Also remember that current FDA standards have allowed many, many dangerous drugs onto the market resulting in death or injury to large groups of people. In all things, calculate risk versus benfit first, then decide.

about 11 years ago, i took phentermine and had no problems. yes, it does make you not want to eat, and it gives you energy you never thought you had. i would work all day and come home and change cloths and walk 2 miles every day. when i started taking this, i was about a size 14, and when i quit, i was a size 4. the reason i quit is because i had gotten so busy that i had missed my drs appointment and was able to keep the weight off with out the meds. i probably took it for about 3-4 months, but you do have to exercise and eat right for it to work. i was loosing it too fast so i had to quit taking it but i learned to eat right and exercise and was able to keep it off.

by no means were there any kind of "mind altering" effects, no depression, no side effects what so ever.

That's good news. Maybe it's worth more research. I personally don't need to lose any weight, but I have a few friends who waste money on diet plan after diet plan and get really frustrated with not being able to lose weight. They don't want to work out, and I keep telling them they won't lose weight if they don't. I'll have them look into it more.

You followed me to this topic to harass me. Your reasons for posting on this topic are exclusively and explicitly to that end. Read this:

http://www.letswrap.com/legal/harass.htm

I do know your real name and could, if I so choose, file suit and have the records of topix for the Jonesboro forum brought forth under subpoena to put an end to this problem. You choose to continue to harass me and others, and I choose to show you mercy by not pressing charges. That is what I mean by ignoring you. How long will you try my patience and good will? How long will I continue to turn the other cheek? How long will I extend to you my desire that you find peace?

Please, Terry, for the sake of those not already capable of joining in a class action suit against you, and for your own good, please stop harassing people on topix.

Fen-Phen was the original combination and it did work but it was pulled in 1997 because of harmful side effects, pulled by FDA. In its original form it did work and quickly. The Phentermine, that is now available, is not as effective without its' counterpart. Power of suggestion is a powerful thing that does work for some people but it is basically just that. It can be purchased for under twenty dollars in generic form. Knowledge is power.
