Stay away from this place...! The food is just mediocre and doesn't compare at all to Fujis!!! It taste like Chinese food you would get out of the freezer. Ohhh and don't let me forget about the wonderful service. My nine month old son could wait tables better than they could. Went in expecting a 45 minute lunch and came out an hour and a half later with a headache and a fair meal. All the waiter could tell us is that there were only two cooks going and they were busy! Oh well I won't be back

I do have to agree somewhat with you but not totally. There meals weren't as good. However their sushi was AWESOME!!!! and much cheaper then shoguns or fugi's for people who enjoy sushi in the area I highly recommend this place.:)

My husband and I just came home from a wonderful lunch there. The waiter came by quite often to check on us and the food was very good. I know that each persons experience is different, but I must say that given an oppertunity I am sure that the service will improve to better suit your tastes.

Ate there yesterday, the food was very good, somewhere between Fuji's and Shoguns. They definetly have a wider variety of rolls than Fuji's does. The service was also very good. They are cheaper than Fuji's and have more variety. I will defintely be going back. The atmosphere is great too. It did not taste anything like frozen chinese food, like the first person stated.

That place is wonderful and it's my new favorite restaurant. Does anyone know about how much the hibachi grill menu items are during lunch? I got the steak and chicken at night it was 14.95 or so, just wondering how much cheaper it is during the day.

Yeah, it's called a to-go menu, pick one up on your way out. Thanx.

I am a very avid consumer of Japanese food. Especially hibachi style and sushi style. This place is great. Great service...when I went there I had to wait for a table for five minutes and they were extremely apologetic for having to wait that long. The variety of sushi is abounding. There's a lot to choose from...compared to most sushi bars. And not to mention the stuff tastes fantastic. I HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone who enjoys asian food.

Steak and chicken at lunch is 8.50, just chicken is 7.25, and just steak is 7.95.

Hey J-Town, blow yourself. Not everyone knows they have take out. That person probably didn't either.

If I could blow myself, do you think I'd be on this site? The menus are right on the counter as your leaving. But thanks for rescuing your fellow poster, what a humanitarian.

I went there today for the first time. The sushi rolls were great. The grill food was not so great. Both the steak and shrimp were overcooked. The service will have improve. They seem a bit disorganized in the kitchen, but that should improve. They do have great lunch specials as well as early bird dinner special. I will go back even though I am a huge Fuji fan.

Japanese restaurants in Jonesboro have the following scale:

Shogun>>>>>> >>Hiro>>Fuji.

Shogun was the first, and still has the best food and service, even though their prices went up a little since they got their private club license. Fuji came along, totally ripping off everything Shogun had (identical menus, some of the former Shogun staff, and about $1 more for every identical item.) Then Fuji started using a shrimp sauce instead of the mustard sauce in their fried rice, which is disgusting and gives people with seafood allergies problems. Fuji's sushi is not as good as Shogun's either. Hiro is a nice compromise between the two on food quality--larger sushi selection, but nowhere near the quality of entree items. Shogun's fried rice is the best of all 3, Hiro's sushi is the best priced, and Fuji can take a long run off a short pier as far as I'm concerned.

Shoguns is awful!!! Their soup tastes like dish water or something and their hot mustard has so much wasabi in it that it is hardly edible. To top it off, it is more expensive than Fujis.
