Anybody here anything about Quebecor going lay off several people, and putting the 12hr. machines back on 8hrs. I wonder why they don't put anything in the Jonesboro Sun like all the other factories do. I bet all the non union employees are not happy about the 5 percent cut.

It's not looking good for Quebecor. I heard that this Friday they are going to start laying people off in all departments. I heard the number will be between 100 and 150 people. Has anyone else heard this as well? Hopefully it is just a rumor- but who knows. We have lost several customers and that has to have some sort of impact on the number of employees needed.

Yeah, you're right, hate seeing people lose their job but some of those new hires and some who have been their awhile sitting around on their butt on light duty need to go. Also some of the the office people need to be replaced, ask them a question and it's always (I don't know). And I'm talking about things that they are supposed to know, things that were hired to know.

I wonder which area they might be laying off in. If press, its hard enough to keep people there.

Anyway, I guess as long as the company is under bankruptcy protection you never really know if the local plant will stay open.

Finally!!!! its about time some of these people who are responiable for firing some good people over some petty B S get to see how it is tring to find a new job and hopfully they will be treated as bad as they treated new hires now that they are one.. this plant has talked shit about how profitable its been. well where is all the money we have made you. is there not enough stuck back to weather this econmic downfall for at least 2 years or were all these profits given away in bonus

My guess is bonus. Or to someone who used to work their and all of a sudden who has come up with the big idea to use DVD to figure out what is wrong with the trimmers in the bindery, where were these ideas back when he worked there, he is making sure he gets his money's worth out of that place after retirement. the trimmers either need replacing or fixed duh.

She isn't a supervisor, he was the supervisor over the Bindery dept. until he retired his initials are D.U.. He may be keeping an eye on her but mostly just ripping Quebecor off with his big ideas.

Too bad he didn't have any big ideas while he was supervisor. All he was worried about was women. He won't need to keep an eye on his wife as long
as he can still afford her.
