As far as factory work, it's pretty good, but be prepared to work alot of hours if you put an application in. Some plants have been closed over the past several months and alot of their work is coming to Jonesboro. Looks like alot of 7 day weeks and 12 hour days in the future.

I was told that you hire in temporary status. Is this true? Will they make you permanent or let you go after you are not needed?

have heard that if you make the cut, you can be made permanent in quick order.
the temp thing you speak of has gone away because the company got a bad rep for screwing too many people out of benefits.
be warned, only about 1 of 20 make it past 30 days.
when they say you will work weekends, they mean it, same for 12 hour days.
if you want to have a life outside of the job, dont bother to apply.

Well dumbass. You won't make the cut.You don't know how to spell and you answered your own question in the same post.I would hate to work there again.I didn't mind the hours and work, but they don't give breaks or lunches. So when they say your gonna work 12 hours that's exactly what you'll work.

The press room workers don't get scheduled breaks, but if you end up in the bindery, you'll get breaks every day. Two 5 minute breaks, 1 fifteen, and a 30 minute lunch.

And being intelligent is not a requirement to getting a job there. Trust me.

You will be lucky to work 30 hours a week as a temp in pressroom.

The bindery's pretty busy right now and looks like it'll stay that way. New jobs coming in and new equipment being installed. As a temp you'll probably pull some 12s from time to time, but not every day. As for days off, those are hard to come by in the bindery.

Yeah the pressroom so busy right now only two presses ran last week and everything down weekend and Monday so figure out how many a temp there will get.

Do they usually hire the temps? or do they just let them go after they are done with the job?

You apply through Workforce. If you get hired on you will remain temp until they decide they are in need to making folks full time. They do not "let you go" when they are done with you, a person can stay working as a temp for a very long time. We have just recently had some temps make full time that have been there for atleast 3 years.

There has been a lot of 12 hour days here lately, so when they say there is overtime, they mean it. Seven days a week have been happening here recently as well. If you are not a person that is not willing to put in the time and effort for a job, do not apply. Having smarts are not needed but it sure would be nice to work with someone that has them every now and again. Good luck!
