My son went to Oasis 4 Kids when I first moved here for school because it was the only one with an opening. My son hated it. Everyday when he got picked up I would have to have two sippy cups and a snack waiting for him because he would be starving. Then he's nose was always dirty and he's face was never clean. the final straw was when I went to pick up and he was asleep on the floor because no one put on a cot after he cried himself asleep (he was teething). Generally on most days he would be crying when I got there and he doesn't have separation issues.

I had my daughter at Kiddie Kastle and when a little boy came to school with staph infection they let him come back to daycare after only a day. My daughter consequently got staph infection. This was terrible. They are dirty and over priced. The owner is greedy and mean to her employees. Bad daycare.

She goes to Shining Star ABC Academy in Valley View now and it is awesome. Not only are they clean and accountable (they have cameras), they are so well priced and so safe. For little infants I think it starts at $105 but as your baby gets older the price goes down. Also they are helping with her potty training. I love it. The girls there are SO nice and interactive and they pay attention to each kid individually. I love it.

We recently took our infant out of Nettleton Baptist Church and now go to Valley View Childcare Center. For Nettleton, at least as far as the two infant rooms goes, I would strongly discourage anyone from using. They were very unorganized and sloppy. My baby would come home with 3 or 4 diaper changes on the sheet and maybe the same number of feedings in an 8 hour day. Several times coming home with dried poop in the diaper. There are too many other things to mention in the short period of time we used Nettleton. This was very disheartening to us since we enjoy church there. As for VVCC, we love it!!! Very professional and caring staff.

I also took my child to Nettleton Baptish Church for about TWO WEEKS. There was a different teacher every time I went. He moved from room to room. They were extremely disorganized and despite my questions and concerns, I had constant reassurance from the director that they were a work in progress. I withdrew my child because I picked him up at 4:00 on a Friday and he was crying, burning up and had a 105 degree fever. I had to rush him to the emergency room. When I questioned the teacher there at the time, she replied to me that she hadn't been in the room very long and she didn't know anything about it. When I tried to find the director she was not available, she was working on moving rooms, along with the other teacher that was suppose to be in the room. They were this choatic every day of the approximately two weeks I took my child there. I don't recommend it.

I also heard there have been other accidents at this daycare. I would definatly try the accreditted places. They have to go thru reviews and Ecers comes to observe them. Staff at these places are educated in this area as well as trained more than the minimum state requirements. I would say any place that goes thru and ecers review because they do not know when they are coming it is in a 90 day window and that means the teacher has bse degree. Not saying that educated means better in every instance because it doesnt always.

I am a mom with older kids but when they were small I found that daycare wasn't never a good idea between cost and child to adult ratio. I would never use one again. I would try very hard to find a stay at home mom if possible. But that is just my take on day cares.

Does anyone know of a really good daycare besides DI (their waiting list is too long). Thanks so much!

Are there any day cares around that stay open late?? I'm a nurse and work 12 hour shifts and my husband also works twelve hour shifts that alternate every month between days and nights. Is there one around that stays open until 8pm or so?

There is a new daycare that just opened "Bright Beginnings 4 kids" or something like that...it's on grant street behind wal-mart. They are opened till like 10.

I used to live in Jonesboro, AR Last year, and all I can say is that I VERY STRONGLY recommend to anyone and everyone to stay as far away from Shining Star Academy as possible. The owners Rod and Rhonda Mills are complete thieves and scam artists and will say and do anything they can to get your money and then totally rip you off and fail to provide the services they offer. You are much better off going with Discovery Island.

I think Treece Daycare is the cleanest and the best day care around Jonesboro. They put in long hours and really take good care of the children.

I can't say enough about Kids Kingdom. I worked there for years, and I've always said that if I had to put my children in daycare, that's where they would go. It's a wonderful program with amazing, caring teachers.

I disagree 100%! They keep the infants in their car seats inside a crib, every time I went to drop off or pick up my children babies would be screaming at the top of their lungs while the worker sat and listened to the radio. The toddler side was a little better but the teachers are really ghetto and tend to talk kind of mean, but school age is a whole another story! A rather large lady would scream non stop at the kids instead of using time out or even doing activities with the kids. She just sat on her big butt and did not seem to want to be bothered. DO NOT TAKE YOUR KIDS THEIR!!

My daughter attends Little Scholars Learning Academy and we love it! It is next to George's Jewelry, close to the railroad tracks. We have been going there for 2 years now and we have had excellent care. My daughter loves her teacher...and the teacher turnover is minimal. I have never worried about my child while she is there. Liz Sanders is an excellent owner/director and she is almost always there. I have no complaints and would recommend LSLA.

We thought so too until one of the workers in the baby room was picking up our 11 month old by one arm to move her from one location to another...we noticed a bruise on her arm one night...then the next day witnessed her being carried in a way that could cause a spiral fracture in a heartbeat...I was shocked

I have to agree with you. Our daughter had been going there...the workers were wonderful to her and it was very reassuringly secure. Then we got to where we had to keep her out for three weeks, becuase we did not need to and could not afford to send her. We told them this and said in three weeks when we needed someone again, we'd check back with them before we tried to take her anywhere else. They said not to worry about it, she'd still have a spot there. Then after a few weeks of taking her back when I began my student teaching, I got a bill from there when I picked her up, charging us almost four hundred dollars. Even though we had called and told them our situation, and that we were not sending her because we could not afford it, they charged us for the three weeks she was not there plus late fees. We did not expect them to hold her a spot, and we thought we were clear on the reasons. It was a nightmare!
