Well, I liked Dr. Taylor. Saw her for the 2nd time today and she really listened while I was talking. If there is something terrible about her I would like to know, Fed Up... I was seeing Dr. Golden before her but I just don't care for him. He was in a rush everytime he saw me and tried diagnosing me before I was even finished speaking.

Is the First Care on Parker a walk-in clinic like Urgent Care or do you need an appt.?

I think you can do either apmt or walk in but they see apmts first. Good luck.

I have only been to First Cares a few times (the ones on Stadium & off Matthews) and have had good experiences, BUT I know several people who have themselves or had relatives who went or go to Dr. Hurst and have heard only bad things about him.
Well my family will only see Dr. Hurst! He is the GREATEST!! My father refused to see any dr until he met Dr. Hurst. He treats every pt like he would want his family treated. That impresses me. He donates his time too to the Church Health Clinic. We Love ya Doc!

Is Dr A. Zshvetta McGhee still associated with First Care?

Dr Z. (McGhee) Jones moved out of state. I really liked her. Now I see Dr. J Lee and he is fantastic.

Okay.. I go to Dr. Hurst but you know what I've noticed about First Care recently?

A. If you need to call in to get a prescription re-filled, give yourself at least a week for them to "have time to get to it." If you have withdrawls associated with your medicine, they don't care.(no I don't take any narcotics, just depression medicine...= HORRIBLE withdrawls!)

B. The ratio of time you see your doctor to the time you wait in the waiting room and then the patient room is like, 1 to 6.

I'm just frustrated... I've had to go through this cycle of call the refill nurse (there is just ONE for all the various clinics they have) wait for 48-72hrs depending on "the volume of calls and how soon the nurse can get to it." They tell you they call you when they call the prescription in, but they don't.

I just cannot get over a business of thier size cannot refill prescriptions any faster than 48 hrs. And cannot return a phone call.

It just plain isnt professional. And if you don't have health insurance, a visit is at least $75+.

I totally agree!
before I was officially diagnosed with anxiety, I was scared to talk about it with my doctor because as soon as I alluded to the fact I have anxiety issues, he asked: "Do you drink sodas or sweet tea?" Well yes.... not many people dont. Well when I said yes "Your body is craving the caffeine. Maybe you should cut out sodas and sweet tea."

Just brushed off any concern for anxiety.

I COULDNT BELIEVE IT!!! And it's not like Im some kind of pill seeking druggie, ive never been prescribed a narcotic of any sort except one pill of something when I got my wisdom teeth removed.

Just a thought. And the Dr. who made the assumption was Tuetken. Dr. Hurst was of course, too busy that day for me.

how funny i saw this. i was at first care on parker this morning. i've used first care before they became first care. i've used dr. hurst ever since dr. lyons left in 1990. our whole family uses first care. the best thing about dr.hurst is that he'll take time to listen to your questions.
when my father in law passed a couple years ago, dr. hurst came to the visitation to be with all of us. he has my utmost respect.
last summer we went to fla on vacation. my husband got a "hook worm" in his foot. dr. palmer knew right away what it was. he said that this type of worm is from a tropical climate, not around here. he didnt have a clue that we'd just came back from fla. dr. palmer also attended my father in law just before he passed. my family couldnt ask for any more respectable doctors than dr. hurst and dr. palmer are.

i use dr. ragland, he's wonderful, but he's not accepting new patients. dr. kazensky (spelling?) is pretty good as well.
i guess i've seen alot of them at one point or another and the only one i didn't like was dr. taylor. she was kinda rude, but it could have just been a bad day
1st care is the BEST!!! Our Family has used them for years and we use the one by ASU. You are so correct. Doc Ragland is awesome..but Dr. Terry Kosinski is wonderful! He is so kind, does not get on the computer..knows allot before he sends you to a specialist. Life Saver! I also agree with the other's on Dr. Hurst..we love our Dr. K!!! The Staff also rocks at the clinic by ASU!!!

They are all GREAT dr.s there, BUT it is an awful place to work! They have a large turn over! I worked there for about a year and left because of the upper management staff and the way that they treat the staff! All the Dr.s are great and they will tell you that the reason for the large turn over is the upper management staff. Also the pay SUCKS! I left there and went to another office making $2 more an hour!!!

I love FIRST CARE.Dr Ragland is the best very kind and concerned but all the docs there are great..I do agree they cut corners on staff and hire unlicensed staff at low wages instead of nurses..previous poster should know that only a licensed nurse can call in scripts thats why it takes a while to get your scripts..its not just because of a nurse "shortage" Its the fact they want to save money!!!But wait till the new hc gets here the nurses will be gone!!
