I am in Florida and I have an AS in Nursing and I get over 30 an hour. The hospitals pay much better than nursing homes, but if you do management in the nursing homes you can makes 35 and hour and up. I am currently working in home health and I can make 60 per visit to open a case, which is go meet the person, make a plan of care and do some paperwork. If I do home health visits I can make 40 an hour.

I live in So Cal and I have been at my job for almost a year. I graduated in Spring of 2010, took my NCLEX in Sept of 2010, passed first attempt and started working in Feb of 2011, after looking for months for a job. I'm 25, this is my first job ever and I'm an ICU RN making 35.50/hr. So IT IS possible. You just have to get hired first and that's the hardest part!

Word to the dumb. If you have an RN move away from this backward state so you can make good money. My daughter graduated from asu and was offered a job at NEA making 22 hourly. She instaead moved to Seattle and make 43 hourly at a great hospital. They even helped her relocate. She loves it and has settled in nicely in a great apt! Get out of this silly place asap!!

NEA pays a higher salary for nurses. I will say though four year nurses should receive more than your two year nurses. Both hospitals are unfortunately guilty of paying new RN's the same yet 2 year nurses have less education. Definitely something both local organizations and the health care industry should identify and reconsider.

Dr.s should be exempt from sexual harassment, like senators, bc nurses just ask for it.
There's a word for women who sleep with married men for compensation you know. Do you think she'd be with you if you weren't a doctor? In fact I can think of several words that apply, all I can say is wear a condom a woman like that is only after your money and a baby is an easy way to trap you.

Nurses do not make 80/hr, anywhere nor do they make 60/hr. After our healthcare system is bankrupted by Obama, you will be paid around 15-25/hr depending on specialty.
