All this piece of news did was make the good clean salons in Jonesboro look incompetent and made us real professionals look like jokes. And far as Jeannie Bonds she in a lot of violations also so to be pointing the finger at someone else. She needs to worry about fixing her problems before she starts pointing fingers.

Irresponsible reporting- Kristina Hamilton should be ashamed!! K8 needs to make a public apology & Kristina needs to be reprimanded. This may cost many salon owners their businesses.

I think this was a great story, Im sure it opened up a lot of people's eyes..this is information that should be shared to the public. If the salons and stylists have issues then I guess they need to clean up. The uppercrust of Jonesboro goes to the 2 salons mentioned in that story, pretty interesting. So many people are unaware of diseases and infections you can get from just getting a manicure or a pedicure. However, I don't really see Jeannie Bonds' opinion being an expert opinion.

Kristina Hamilton is one of the best reporters kait has. What great piece of news has Dianna Davis reported on lately? We need more stories like this. People need to be held accountable for their actions.

I think it was a very interesting story. I cant tell you how many times I have went into a nail salon and the ppl pull out the buffers to do my nails and they are all chalky white from other ppl's residue on them . That is GROSS! You never know if it was used on someones feet or hands. Either way that "nail dust" skin particles are all over your hands if they reuse it. Great Story K8!

She shouldn't be picking on just two places. They should have made a list of all salons and their citations. This made two places look bad when I suspect there were others just as bad or close. This could put those two places out of business, leaving others untouched.

What hard hitting journalism. Guess that one case of toenail fungus constitutes a public health crisis. The way she kept berating the workers "were you going to use this again?" Pretty lame.

Maybe a better story would be on a county that won't pass a basic nepotism law. Show how many unqualified nephews are on the job. There are more serious problems the airtime could have addressed.

She was just trying to be like Barbara Walters. Problem is; she does'nt have the expertise to pull it off, like B.W. would. Good idea to reveal problems with this type of vanity, but not thought through very well.

If they can't clean it up and keep their tools disinfected then it should cost them their businesses. Why blame her if what she reported was the truth?

I agree. This was'nt irresponsible reporting, just sloppy. These places, should have to follow rules, as stringent as tattoo parlors. And yes, I know. Tattoo parlors aren't always clean either, but they do have regulations in place. Do spas and nail salons? The towel pile, can be easily remedied, with a bag rack from their local linen supplier. Simple fix. But, reusing any devise, that can't be sterilized between uses,(in my opinion)is just greedy and dangerous. You would'nt want a surgeon, to reuse his tools without sterilizing them, would you? Same principle.

I got a toenail fungus from a pedicure at Jagged Edge. It took me a long time to get it taken care of, eventually had to have my toenail taken off by Dr. Woodruff. I'll never trust anyone enough to have another pedicure. It was a very expensive and painful lesson to learn.

As far as the KAIT news piece, I thought it was presented in a very unprofessional way. KAIT is a cheap podunk TV station and I would expect no more from them.

But it IS irresponsible to only report on two of many other shops. Why let the others go untouched and single out these two?

Wow its been 1 year that the state health dept picked up on inspections, Who cares. Come back in 2-5 years when all of the salons and spas are used to the checks and inspections. Why didn't they report on taxes not being paid from businesses?

If they wanted to do the report they should have went down the list. You know those weren't the only places with write-ups! Wasn't the story about nails? One of the salons she attacked didn't have any write-ups to do with nails at all. They won't report on the taxes because some of those places advertise with them.

I'm afraid to let a salon touch my funky feet toenails for fear THEY might catch something.

KAIT as well as the Sun are notorious for slanting a story towards the negative, omitting crucial informaiton, and providing a one sided "scandal" flavored piece when in fact there's abosolutely nothing diabolical going on. Dirt sells, scandal sells, negative sells -- there's a clear pattern. The Sun's coverage of the young man who accidently killed a person becasue he was texting and driving - later commited suicide due to the unrelentingly negative press it received and THEN the Sun thought it would be senssational to run a story on his death as well. KAIT does the exact same thing, whether it be liquor license issues, race relations, or health inspections they premeditate to leave out the positive the explanation the circumstances and pick/choose the aspects of the story that can be woven into a scandal or negative dirt. Both media sources should be embarrassed and ashamed of the way in which they conduct journalism.

Wow, KAIT is getting out there in the trenches and exposing the ugly side of life that middle class America is terrified of! Next week, they're doing a story that reveals a deep-cover journalist at Petco with a story about Hamster Wet-Tail disease. Go Channel 8, expose corruption and abominations in the Region 8 viewing area!!!
